    Madden NFL 06 on the Xbox 360 has the look, and it plays fine. But beneath its lambent sheen is a skeletal game of football that's lacking many of the things that football fans have grown accustomed to in recent years. Pretty graphics are great to have and all, but everything else about Madden on the 360 feels like a step backward--and one that makes its higher price tag very difficult to justify.

    Madden 2006 is a great game of football and while most of us game journalists say that every year, this time it's true. For the first time in years, the game has been redesigned which completely alters the gameplay at its core. Tiburon appears not to be satisfied with just creating an entertaining representation of video football but to advance the realism so that the experience brings players that much closer to what it feels like being on the gridiron. They've succeeded. 2006 is a must buy for most Madden faithful.

    If you want Madden 06 with all the bells and whistles (owner mode and mini-camp drills), then stick with the regular version of the game that you have for your consoles at home. But for the casual Madden players, the football fans playing Madden in barbershops across the country, the guys that just want to play the game and talk trash to one another, Madden NFL 06 for the Xbox 360 is a must-have game.

    Despite those faults, however, Madden NFL 06 is still a fantastic game, just not as much fun to play as it has been the last few years. This was bound to happen with how well it's been consistently improving over time.

    Vraiment décevante, cette version Xbox 360 donne clairement l'impression que Madden loupe la marche de la nouvelle génération et perd dans sa chute beaucoup de ce qui faisait le charme de la série. Reste un joli jeu de football US, sans véritable personnalité, ni intérêt. Cette fois-ci, le casque des joueurs sonne bien creux.

2006's edition in the unstoppable football series features a brand new passing game in the Quarterback Vision Control system -- depending on where you are looking and how good your QB is, your zone of view affects how accurate your toss is as well as allowing you precision placement ahead of or straight to the receiver. The game now also feature Formation Specific Audibles and other tweaks to the offensive and defensive game.
