- Despite its age, Killing Floor still holds up as a solid entry in the Zombie FPS category and is one of my personal favorites. It’s not the most beautiful or technically impressive game (especially with what modern gaming PCs are capable of today), but it is packed with so much style, challenge, and over the top metal music that it’s a solid purchase. It holds a special place in my heart for being a shooter that proudly represents the FPS old guard – a rockin’ metal soundtrack, the ability to carry more than two guns, and a decent variety of community created content.

It's absurd and crass, and yet you can't help but enjoy it. Maybe there is something inherently entertaining about gunning down hordes of zombies. Maybe the simple formula of fight, flight, or weld speaks to some primal part of the human brain. Whatever the reason, Killing Floor will have you gleefully decapitating monsters like the reincarnation of an ancient war god. It's just plain fun, and for only $20 you could do a lot worse.
Daniel Shannon · May 26, 2009 Reviewed on PCRead full review - It may not have gotten the attention that other high profile shooters have received, but Killing Floor is a fun game for up to six players to enjoy as they blast mutated creatures to bits. While the single-player experience is pretty much non-existent and there are still a large number of bugs that have to be contended with, there's enough of a foundation here for players to enjoy. Hop online and kill monsters for Queen and Country.
Jeff Haynes · May 20, 2009 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The extra content and support provided by Tripwire, as well as the modding community will help add extra value to that. Those of you who are happy with L4D might enjoy a change of pace with this title, then again you may not. There really is very ‘little’ to this game in terms of depth, and it still feels a little bit like a mod. Play or not, it’s still a decent little title, and a testament to just how far you can take your hobby if you but try.
Joe Robinson · Aug 05, 2009 Reviewed on PCRead full review - It isn't perfect. It's not the sort of game that future generations will gather to celebrate, linking hands and singing sad songs of fond remembrance. It is, however, clever, boisterous, faintly silly and relatively cheap. So to return to my opening question, Killing Floor's relationship with Left 4 Dead certainly isn't equivalent to that of Tesco Value baked beans and Heinz. It's more complex and nuanced than that. I think it's up there on a par with a tin of HP.
Will Porter · May 28, 2009 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The games industry, like any industry, goes through phases and fads. Arguably, zombies have always been a popular subject with games; their limited intelligence and movement make them perfect for cannon fodder.
