- Even with a few dud covers and themes sometimes at odds with the songs they're supposed to capture, the setlist remains impressively diverse and sure to please. The GamePad offers a few novel features to make the game worth considering on Wii U and the greatly enhanced Just Sweat mode pushes dance workouts in fun new directions. Just Dance 4 still has the right moves, but soon might be a good time to learn a few new ones.
Jon Wahlgren · Jan 08, 2013 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - The bizarre artistic direction of Just Dance 4's audio/visual components, coupled with its absurd choreography, cripple the player experience found within. This dance party game may illicit a few laughs, but nothing more worthwhile. Just Dance 4 is a generator of awkward moments, an engine powering missteps and bodily mayhem. Whether this is frustrating or fun will often come down to the blood alcohol level of the participants.
Ryan Clements · Dec 10, 2012 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - With five Wii U games, from Mario to Mickey, sitting on my coffee table this is the game my two nephews wanted to play almost unanimously. Despite the shortcomings of using a Wii remote versus something like the Kinect that tracks the whole body, this is still a totally fun game to play, especially with friends. I am not sure the added features for the Wii U offer a compelling enough reason to choose or switch to the Wii U version if you are a multiple console owner, especially considering you can get it for $20 cheaper on the other consoles.
Shad Forsyth · Dec 04, 2012 Reviewed onRead full review - If there's anything bad to be said about Just Dance 4, it's that there's not much new here. It's largely a song pack, albeit a very entertaining one. This is as fun a game as any in the series, with routines that are even wilder than before, and a keen self-awareness that eagerly embraces its over-the-top kitsch qualities. Sure, Just Dance 4 doesn't bring much in the way of new features to the party, but if all you want is to have one hell of a fun, energetic, and hilarious time, there really is no party quite like a Just Dance 4 party.
Mark Walton · Oct 25, 2012 Reviewed onRead full review - There is no doubt that Just Dance 4 is lagging behind Dance Central 3 in terms of features, modes, and even just accurately sensing your moves. But sometimes that added depth can be a pretty big barrier for entry, especially in such a physically demanding game genre. Just Dance 4 may not have all of the right moves, but bust it out at a party and everyone is sure to be on their feet.
Scott Nichols · Oct 22, 2012 Reviewed on X360Read full review - It just invites you to have fun with it, whoever you are and whatever music you like. It’s wildly silly, creative and colourful, relying on daft, characterful choreography and to evoke a party atmosphere that puts everyone at ease. There’s not a lot here that wasn’t in Just Dance 4, or even Just Dance 3, but the series’ talent for getting people up and dancing is still unmatched. Dancing is fun no matter what, but this game is a master facilitator of that fun, a catalyst for laughter.
Keza Macdonald · Oct 11, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Just Dance 4 is a hard game not to like. It’s completely unpretentious and simply exists to make you have fun, hopefully starting a party in the process. The soundtrack is strong and the choreography is as good as ever. Unfortunately, without full body tracking, the game is simply not as enjoyable as it is on the Kinect. Knowing that it’s only tracking the motion of the Wii Remote, and a single arm by association, lowers the motivation to perfectly nail the moves.
Steve Hannley · Jun 29, 2012 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Just Dance 4 still features the psychedelic aesthetic but I feel that the overall visual assault has been toned down.
