  • Jump Force: Deluxe Edition isn't a terrible title, but you have to be willing to forgive its numerous issues to enjoy it. The fighting is flashy, but it lacks depth since you can button-mash the attack button and win just about every match. The character roster is smaller compared to previous Jump games, and some of the dream interactions are hobbled by a less-than-stellar story and a lack of voices to make the interactions impactful.

  • Jump Force: Ultimate Edition goes to show that maybe not every single game should be ported to Switch. While the core gameplay and ideas presented probably wouldn't feel at home regardless, the Switch version really shouldn't be the way to experience this game. If you are looking for a portable version of Jump Force I'd recommend putting some manga in your backpack. It will probably last you longer.

  • While definitely not for the online competitive community due to the game’s lag issues, manga/anime fans looking for a fun time are going to really enjoy how well all of these characters translate into the game, even if they’re sometimes a bit nightmarish.

  • If you're a huge fan of the shows involved or you like your fighting nice and easy you'll get more than most out of things and jumping into an online battle – if you can find one – adds a little spice to the mix but, overall, this is a disappointingly dull, one-note affair that doesn't do its roster of ever-popular characters any sort of justice.

  • That was my experience with Jump Force. A rushed and poorly developed product that features bad visuals, gameplay, sound mixing, terrible loading times, and one of the most irritating single-player campaigns in recent years. What should have been a simple and more content-filled sequel to J-Stars ended up being a poor man’s Xenoverse with less polished controls. This is not what anime fans deserve.

Jump Force is not a bad fighting game. In fact, anime and manga fans will have a good time here even if they are a casual player of fighting games. The issue is that it is wrapped around a boring a tedious hub world for pretty much everything you do. The story is decent, but the actual cut scenes can be questionable and make the entire package look low budget, but in the end, it’s a fun flashy fighting game. You’re just going to have to wade through some mediocre stuff to get to it.

  • Jump Force, which, in terms of its quality, feels mostly like a launch title. Its lack of polish, the lackluster narrative, offputting visuals, and boring environments come together to form a disappointing game, one that doesn’t come close to living up to the standards of the franchises it tries to represent. Folks would be much better off playing one of the Dragon Ball Xenoverse titles, or better yet, Dragonball FighterZ.

  • Jump Force brings together some of Mangas biggest and best characters and instead of making you feel powerful leaves you fighting bad gameplay, an aggravating plot, and your own patience. Even big Shonen Jump fans may want to avoid this one...

  • Overall Jump Force does several things well, but where it falls short it is noticeable. If you’re a big fan of the various Jump Shonen franchises than this is a fun ride for you, if you’re looking for an online fighting game, look elsewhere. Having your custom character fight side on the same team as Luffy from One Piece or Midoriya from My Hero Academy is great. The characters from their shows are done very well and look great. Customizing of your character is well done and gives you some good variety. The story is ok and could’ve been better.

  • The gameplay itself is enjoyable though not groundbreaking, and while there’s a fair amount of fun to be had here, there are more worthwhile options out there.
