  • Iris.Fall might not break any new ground in terms of gameplay, but what it brings to the table it does well. There are some pacing issues due to severe difficulty spikes with a couple of its puzzles, but for the most part it delivers an enjoyable (albeit short) experience. That’s another point worth mentioning; this game can easily be completed in about three to four hours.

  • So, I think it’s fair to compare Iris.Fall to a quality picture book with some occasionally complicated words or themes. You’ll be a bit relieved when the game’s done, but you’ll be happy about the time you spent with it.

  • The game has some of the most innovative puzzles we've seen in a game on any platform! Couple the innovation that uses objects in the light and shadow worlds with some spectacular animation and you have a clear cut winner for one of the best puzzle games ever on the Nintendo Switch platform!

  • In conclusion, if you’re into environmental puzzle games, Iris. Fall will offer you a few hours of enjoyment. It doesn’t particularly stand out aside from a few interesting environments, but it’s compelling enough with its shadow traveling mechanics and the mood it sets. As mentioned, it is short though.

  • Iris.Fall delivers an enchanting and mysterious dream-like world for you to explore. The variety of puzzles keep the game interesting, but the lack of any explanation can make some of them confusing. The shadow mechanic the game employs isn’t new but it gives the puzzles more variety.

  • So that’s Iris.Fall. It’s beautiful, it has great music, it shows promise in its themes, but that’s about it. The game is frustratingly lacking in polish and originality, with things as critical as movement falling sub-par. I should say that, if you’re patient, not especially critical, and you’re desperate for a pretty puzzle game to play for a few hours (it took me about three hours to finish), Iris.Fall will not hurt you to play. Just don’t go in expecting a gem. As I said, it’s unpolished at best.

  • Iris.Fall emerges from the shadows with challenging puzzles and beautiful art direction. Its streamlined gameplay may not always match the impeccable quality of its presentation, but this is unquestionably an adventure that deserves to be undertaken by puzzle fanatics.

  • Iris.Fall is an artsy puzzler that uses its environment to tell a weird and occasionally unnerving story. Using light and darkness for everything from telling that story to puzzlings, this is a game worth checking out. There is little to critique, other than some minor pathing issues and a small bug experience by accidentally skipping a puzzle. If you are looking for a puzzle-solving adventure that will keep you on your toes, Iris.Fall is well worth your time.

  • With its short playtime, Iris.Fall doesn't overstay its welcome and presents an interesting distraction that never bores. Variety is the spice of life in this instance, so it's unfortunate that new elements are sometimes introduced that are so baffling that players may be discouraged from seeing the story through to the end credits.

  • When all is said and done, Iris.Fall on Xbox is over in a flash and doesn’t linger in the memory despite some strong ideas. The monochrome graphical presentation alone will turn some heads, and some of the puzzles can be quite interesting. But once you make your way through the adventure and piece together the mystery, then there really isn’t much to come back for.
