- It may falter slightly in the final stretch by wrestling away player freedom and funnelling you through its overly long endgame, but this is still a hugely entertaining, technically impressive Ancient Greek romp that's well worth experiencing.
PJ O'Reilly · Aug 30, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The Lost Gods is the best expansion released by Ubisoft for Immortals: Fenyx Rising. It features the same type of dad joke humor prevalent in the main game and A New God while utilizing the open-world and the addition of new characters and locations that set the Myths of Eastern Realm apart from the rest of the game. There are certain problems and shortcomings, but altogether the DLC provides a lot of fun.
Catherine Daro · May 04, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Immortals Fenyx Rising was a game that I wanted to play to finish and put to the side, but it’s one that has stuck with me a lot longer than I thought it would, and given me one of my favourite Ubisoft open worlds in memory. If you can look beyond a lack of originality in some of its formula and some rigid puzzles, you’ll find a beautiful world that’s well worth exploring.
George Foster · Jan 29, 2021 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - It is funny, a blast to play, beautiful, and has some of the best music in any video game. I do not understand why Ubisoft released it with so little fanfare and sandwiched it in between so many gigantic releases.
Jesse Norris · Jan 07, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The story has found new ways to observe familiar stories, even though you’ve spent 100 hours playing Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and then another 50 playing Hades. A few thousand years later, and it turns out Greek mythology still isn’t played out. And thanks to Ubisoft, neither are open worlds.
Tom Chick · Dec 31, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Immortals Fenyx Rising is an enjoyable family-friendly alternative to Assassin’s Creed. The story is enjoyable and if you know a bit about Greek mythology it’s pleasant to see they took the flaws and cruel sides of the Gods rather than glorifying them.
Graham Cameron · Dec 15, 2020 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - It’s a very fantastic way of closing off a fantastic game. I had an incredible time playing this game, and I can say with confidence that if you enjoy RPGs that put forth exploration and have great campaigns, you will have an incredible time playing this game too.
Rhett Roxl · Dec 09, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - I was skeptical of Immortals Fenyx Rising after trying the demo, but it comes together with more context. It might be sloppy sometimes, even in regards to the conversation of open world adventures, but it offers up a lot of fast-paced arcade fun. I'd definitely be interested in a true current-gen sequel with a clear vision that shores up some of its bigger issues.
Chris Carter · Dec 04, 2020 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - It’s vivid, colorful, full of puzzles to solve, with great combat and a surprisingly hilarious script. It’s yet another open world game made by Ubi, sure, but it’s still a pretty good one. Besides, who doesn’t want to explore a gigantic island full of Greek gods to befriend and monsters to slay?
Leo Faria · Dec 03, 2020 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - There are a lot of enjoyable aspects to Immortals Fenyx Rising, but very little feels new. Instead, it’s similar and safe, like I’ve done this all before. And I have but with a different main character and color palette. Its biggest sin is being entirely forgettable once you move on to the next game.
