- Hustle Kings looks and sounds about as royal as you'd expect a pool game to get. The several musical genres that are mixed and matched as you play – funk, hip hop, jazz and more – all fit in well with the Americanised feel of the game. You're unlikely to see shiny balls this good elsewhere on Vita at this stage, either; there's obviously not a huge deal to work with, but the lighting is decent and what you see of the surrounding arenas is of good enough quality not to detract from the action.
Mike Mason · Mar 07, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - At its core, Hustle Kings is a game that focuses heavily on meeting the needs of its central audience: pool players. And, even though it remains relatively accessible to the hustler in all of us, it probably isn't for everyone, and that's a shame. If we can get past the fact that it's a pool title, we would probably genuinely enjoy ourselves, but there's a good chance that this is a hurdle that most people won't care to jump.
Josh Engen · Mar 05, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - The touchscreen controls may seem like a lot to take in at first, but their precision and accuracy make simple shots a breeze and the more complicated trick shots even more fun. It's not a perfect game, but when you get both the Vita and PS3 games for one price? You can't knock the hustle, baby.
Ian Bonds · Mar 02, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - It’s hard to deny the value of buying a pool game on Vita and getting its PlayStation 3 counterpart as an added bonus. And graphically, Hustle Kings looks really nice. So despite the odd musical choices, spooky floating cue, bad connectivity, and annoying precision camera, Hustle Kings is still a good game.
Peter Eykemans · Feb 23, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Hustle Kings is a great pool sim and game all-around, with more modes than you can shake a pool cue at. The supreme amounts of polish the game and the menu have make it a nearly flawless experience. Throw in online and even Cross-Platform Play, and Hustle Kings is a seriously packed game for the price. Even if pool isn’t your thing, give Hustle Kings a try.
Anthony Severino · Feb 22, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Hustle Kings graphics won't set your Vita firing on all cylinders, and those who've already chalked their cues on PS3 won't find much reason to replay it. No doubt a niche offering, but it does what it sets out to do really well and is perfectly suited to on-the-go gaming sessions. It's no poster boy for PlayStation's slick new toy, but if you'd rather play pool than chase fortune and glory alongside Drake, you won't find a better option.
Matt Cabral · Feb 22, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - With a large set of cue sport games available and some very enjoyable gameplay, Hustle Kings provides a great experience for fans of snooker and is so far one of the best representations of the sport throughout the current generation of gaming. With good use of the Move controller to enhance an already solid package, marred only by unfair computer opponents and in-game advertising, this comes highly recommended.
Henry Stockdale · Sep 28, 2010 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - While not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, it is one of the better video pool games I've played and certainly worth a look if billiards is your game. With its robust online options and excellent physics, Hustle Kings is excellent if occasionally frustrating fun.
Conrad Zimmerman · Feb 01, 2010 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Hustle Kings is a pretty impressive game of pool. There are loads of options, more than I would have ever expected from a $10 game, and the mechanics are pretty much spot-on. The button sensitivity for fine-tuning shots could use some improvement, but otherwise the game is butter.
Tony Capri · Jan 28, 2010 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Still, playing pool on your own in real life is a pretty atmosphere-sucking enterprise, and Hustle Kings makes up for the relatively staid single-player with its wealth of multiplayer options. A great virtual recreation of pool that eases beginners in smoothly and offers up a feature-rich multiplayer mode for the experts.
