- En este momento, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions se siente como un juego divertido pero incompleto. Tiene el potencial de ser algo más grande, pero su precio nos justifica del todo que gastemos en él. Está bien que incluya cross-play y cross-save para que puedas jugar con tus amigos en cualquier plataforma, pero descuida otros apartados. Una de las promesas es que incluirá un modo de 6 vs 6... así que más adelante veremos si Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions evoluciona de forma favorable.

And the small changes to the rules make the game more exhilarating. It’s just missing something to keep things fresh. I’m not sure if a Quidditch Ultimate Team is viable, but a different mode or two rather than just a few cups against the CPU would really help things out.

The game offers fast-paced action, a decent progression system, free rewards, and entertaining online gameplay. While we did enjoy this one more in short bursts, we can imagine more competitive players sinking a lot of hours into this one. If you’re quick, you can still grab this one for free via PlayStation Plus.

Apprezziamo lo sforzo di adattare uno sport che si basava su altre regole a un contenuto videoludico che deve scendere a patti con le esigenze del gameplay. Però, ribadiamo, che a oggi i contenuti sono davvero troppo pochi: le sfide in single player sono limitate e il multiplayer può accontentarvi per qualche partita, ma nulla più. Servivano più modalità, più proposte e un'offerta più variegata, soprattutto nella personalizzazione del team, che invece ha poche skill da potenziare. I fan avranno la loro dose di soddisfazioni nello sfrecciare con le proprie scope, ma la difficoltà del gameplay rischia di alzare di molto l'asticella dell'accessibilità e tenere fuori tutto quel pubblico più casual che invece in Hogwarts Legacy aveva fatto la fortuna di Portkey Games.

Of je nu graag simpelweg op doelpunten jaagt, andere spelers met een beuker van hun bezem mept of als zoeker met je bovengemiddelde vliegkunsten een extra stempel op de wedstrijd drukt, deze game zorgt ervoor dat het te allen tijde leuk blijft. Al moeten we daar meteen ook bijvertellen dat de besturing niet zo intuïtief is, waardoor bepaalde moves geen sinecure zijn om uit te voeren. De hoeveelheid content is ook eerder beperkt en de graphics zullen niet meteen prijzen winnen op awardshows. Laat dat je, gezien het eerder lage prijskaartje, echter niet tegenhouden: Harry Potter fans kunnen zich met deze game verder onderdompelen in het populaire tovenaarsuniversum en soms is dat genoeg.

Each position has a lot of depth to it, whether you’re harassing the other team’s Seeker as a Beater, drifting to keep up with the Snitch as a Seeker, faking out a Keeper to score as a Chaser, or making the perfect save yourself. Quidditch Champions makes smart rule changes to make this fantasy sport more fun while capturing the look and feel of the Wizarding World. There just isn’t much here off the pitch to keep you playing long-term, and co-op progression issues mean you can’t easily take on its career mode tournaments or grow your collection of unlockables with friends. Quidditch Champions did the near-impossible by turning quidditch into an actual competitive game, but I just wish there was a little more bristle on the end of this broom.

There are fun characters to unlock, plenty of fun cosmetics, and iconic locations from the books to play in. Aspects of the game have been altered to make it more multiplayer friendly than in the books. However, the game feels very imbalanced when it comes to online matchmaking and even responsibilities within a team. It needs some considerable tweaking but can still be fun for big Harry Potter fans.

It is far too busy, and there is a huge skill ceiling that isn't introduced to the player well enough. The tutorial goes through each role, which is helpful, but more than that is needed to understand the flow of the game. While being a fun game with friends, it sadly lacks when playing alone, and the limited substance makes the whole thing feel like more of a DLC than a full game.
