  • Greedfall can be unfairly judged right off the bat, but this is a game that fans of the RPG genre will definitely enjoy. Spiders have excelled in making a great game with Greedfall, from the well-written narrative to the robust combat and RPG mechanics. Newcomers will benefit the most with the Gold Edition, while those only looking to play the DLC may be left disappointed.

  • The De Vespe Conspiracy still tells an enjoyable tale, but the surrounding new enemies, empty location, and anticlimactic ending make for something akin to getting a dinner mint as a dessert rather than the chocolate melting cake.

  • Greedfall is a tough game to judge. It's neither bad nor great. It comes staggeringly close to greatness in a number of areas, but it just lacks the polish or ambition to go further. If you're looking for a nostalgic trip back to the mid-2000s style of WRPGs, then you'll find a lot to like in Greedfall. It's worth a shot if you're a fan of that style of games. In a year that gave us titles like Disco Elysium, it's difficult to be particularly impressed by something that is merely standard.

  • Greedfall even with the inconsistent accents and technical difficulties is still an easy game to recommend for folks looking for a change of pace from the standard Dungeons and Dragons tropes. There is plenty of political intrigue and mysteries to unravel on Teer Fradee and no one faction that can be singled out as good or evil.

  • It's a shame that a good game is held back by incredibly boring design decisions. I think Greedfall is on the verge of greatness but falls short in too many areas to really go down as a must-play. It's absolutely an enjoyable romp, just one plagued by the thought of what could have been.

I think GreedFall may be the sleeper hit of the year. It’s an RPG that captures the best parts of BioWare’s works while adding in their own gameplay elements and a unique setting. The side stories are given just as much importance as the main quests. The world is large despite not being one large open world experience. Combat is the perfect blend of real time action and turn based decision making. After playing Bound by Flame earlier this year I had little expectation for GreedFall. I am happy I was wrong to doubt Spiders, because it is one of my favorite games of the year.

  • Greedfall is an RPG like I haven’t encountered before. From the time period, in the 17th century, to the story to just how much of an impact even your dialogue choices have on how the story will end. It has its issues and it moves slowly, but once you get yourself wrapped up in the story of the colonization of Teer Fradee and the supernatural forces that inhabit and protect the people of the island, the speed of the gameplay doesn’t seem to matter at much.

  • Spider did a pretty great job with Greedfall. It has been a long time since we have seen such an innovative and rich lore filled RPG. We reckon this is because most of the RPGs these days completely miss their mark or fall in the same old pattern of their predecessors. Although there are a few flaws in the game like the facial expressions and some parts of the combat, the game is still a joy to play. Greedfall is a must-have if you want to expand your RPG library.

  • GreedFall game uses a very engaging method of storytelling to immerse the player into its own world of fantasy meets 17th century history. This narrative is further presented by unconventional gameplay mechanics and in-depth features offered to the player, meant to further enhance the pleasure of immersing oneself into this setting. The game is also quite challenging and rewards players for understanding and using all its innovative features, not forgiving the opposite. All in all, it is quite a good take on the action RPG genre.

  • Greedfall is an ambitious and, at times, enjoyable RPG that makes use of its unique setting to deliver a story full of intrigue and compelling themes. However, its clumsy presentation, slow gameplay and bug-prone nature leave it a game that always feels a few steps away from greatness. Greedfall definitely has its moments, but unfortunately, you’ll have to break through its severely rough exterior to find them.
