  • It’s fun to zoom around the city, and missions are relatively bite-sized, broken up into multiple interludes that all play into a chapter-based system. Not all the beats hit, and not everything comes together, but you do get the sense that you’re chipping away at a mystery, and the parts that involve the team itself are often insightful.

  • You are used to Batman taking on all of his own enemies, and now he is not even in the picture. The different way each of the characters fights is unique to their archetype and fits each in their own way. The story itself is a lot of fun, and you will get drawn into it, but the side missions will draw you to do them all as well.

  • That being said, the game was entertaining and I am curious about playing as some of the other characters as well as seeing what future missions will be made available as while it does not reach the level of Arkham Asylum, Gotham Knights was for me a very enjoyable adventure despite some flaws and one that I think DC fans will enjoy if they are patient and willing to overlook some of the shortcomings of the game to focus on the things it does well.

  • The game is the most fun if you have people that join you on your crusade, as the single-player experience falls somewhat flat. Overall the game is decent, but it’s not the game that will define the genre.

  • Gotham Knights does a few things quite well, but mostly meanders with everything else. The shoddy port just makes it an even tougher sell.

  • In conclusion, Gotham Knights is an incredibly average game that brings absolutely nothing new to the table. The graphics do not look like they belong to the next-gen, the story is really easy to guess, and the combat is nothing new. It does not get any more 5/10 than that.Â

  • Gotham Knights have produced a fantastic spin-off title, as well as a king-sized open-world experience with easy on the eye visuals. Plus, the idea that you and a friend can fight crimes together is understandable why this is one of the reasons this game had gotten so much hype. With how the game is set up, you’d conclude that it revolves around combat.

  • Gotham Knights has a few interesting things going on. It’s just not enough to elevate it to the level of previous Batman games. Now, sure, technically speaking, this isn’t truly a Batman game, as the focus is on his legacy of proteges.

  • In the end, Gotham Knights is, like the studio’s earlier contribution to the saga, Batman: Arkham Origins, a decent game haunted by the notion of not being the main event.

  • Its story is fantastic, and the core gameplay loop is solid, whether you’re talking about a story-driven solo mission or yet another nightly patrol with some mates. It is not, however, a game that deserves the label of “next-gen only”, as its performance is outshined by many other PS4 and Xbox One games.
