  • Even though the gameplay of FUSER can get repetitive, it’s great that there are multiple game modes to play. It’s nice for casual play and it’s still very fun since you’re a fricking DJ! Creating your own sick beats with – in my opinion – great music we all know well. This soundtrack is like a fine wine that ages from decades ago, with a few new decent inclusions. Add having the ability to share this with the world, and then you can have a lot of fun. Besides the glitchy graphics, FUSER is a party. We dub this title perfect for any music-loving gamer, who likes a fairly casual experience.

  • With the avatar customization, set customization, and unbelievable fluidity in musical choices it offers, there's plenty to love with Fuser. Players with a need for different color modes due to color blindness will be delighted to see three other modes available here, as well as subtitles. This effort might not sway gamers with a distinct aversion to rhythm games, but fans of the genre who have grown through various consoles and popular hits will have a blast. In fact, it is entirely feasible to think you could craft a convincing set with this set of tools, and that's the highest praise I can muster. There's never been a better video game to move a crowd than Fuser.

  • Even if you play the campaign and find yourself unmotivated to make songs on your own without the score chase, the simple pleasure of having some songs you like come together into your own song is unique in games, and wholly enchanting.

  • After rocking the world with guitars and other assorted musical stylings, Fuser feels and sounds like the logical next step for Harmonix. It’s colourful, brimming with positive energy, and the musical mash-ups that you can potentially create aren’t just surprising, they deserve to be heard around the world. If a steady flow of DLC keeps Fuser alive, I’ll happily hop back into the DJ booth to create a few more surprise hits.

  • Though I poured hours into the experience, I still feel like I have so many corners and interactions to explore within the library of available tracks. Fuser transcends musical genres to deliver a magical and intuitive music creation toolset within the framework of a game.

At its best, Fuser feels like the most promising attempt yet to bring back the glory days of social music gaming. The tutorial-like campaign scratches the itch for fast-paced rhythm-based score chasing, while the Freestyle mode could be turned into a true platform for content creation in the right hands. But a dearth of replayable game modes, lack of local multiplayer, and an exhausting grind to unlock more tracks can really kill the vibe.

  • Harmonix has a winner on its hands with Fuser. The ease of use and array of tools ensure that anyone can create a great-sounding track. While Fuser is a good game to bust out at parties, the ability to share small mixes online ensures that the creations will get some exposure until we can have local gatherings again.

  • Fuser lets you become a DJ from the safety of your own home, without having to deal with a global pandemic or 24-year-olds with jaws swinging like saloon doors.

  • Fuser is a weird little thing that has fantastic moments turn into awful ones at the drop of a beat. But when the awful moments are still incredibly fun, does it really matter? If you don't take Fuser too seriously, it could be one of the best rhythm games out there.

  • With other music and rhythm games, the drive to beat your previous score and perfect a song is what keeps players coming back. With that missing in Fuser, it’s difficult to remain enthralled with it for much longer than a few hours unless you really want to create and share musical creations.
