    The cartoon-inspired visuals in Funky Barn lack the charm of other games of its ilk, graphically looking rather dated overall. Animal models themselves showing little character, highlighted through the limited interaction that you can have with them.

    It's far from pretty, but its simple gameplay is quite addictive while it lasts and it controls well. What really puts it out to pasture prematurely is its unjustly high price tag and a dearth of content, however: it only takes a few hours to see everything, and after that there's very little reason to return to the fields.

    Funky Barn is very basic but passably entertaining. As a lower-price downloadable game it’d be much better value, but as a $50/£30 Wii U launch title it’s more difficult to recommend. Still, the touchscreen control works well, and it's by no means a disaster. It bodes well for the next Harvest Moon.

    Das Spiel bietet weder die soziale Komponente von Farmville, noch den Realismus eines Landwirtschafts-Simulators und kann nicht einmal ansatzweise mit dem Umfang oder der Abwechslung von Harvest Moon mithalten. Erstaunlich, dass dieses Sparprogramm sogar zum Vollpreis angeboten wird. Wer ein paar Stündchen auf seinem Hof herumalbern will, wird ausreichend bedient, mehr sollte aber niemand erwarten.
