  Η ανακοίνωση του Funko Fusion ήρθε ως έκπληξη στους fans και τους συλλέκτες των Funko Pop, όμως η κυκλοφορία του φέρνει έναν κάτω του μετρίου κλώνο των LEGO games που φαίνεται να μην σέβεται το κοινό στο οποίο απευθύνεται. Με μοναδικό πόλο έλξης τα licenses που, εκτός των όσων σημειώθηκαν νωρίτερα, συμπεριλαμβάνουν τα Back to the Future, Battlestar Gallactica, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Jaws, M3GAN, The Mummy, Shaun of the Dead και The Walking Dead, ο τίτλος είναι όσο άψυχος όσο και οι συλλεκτικές φιγούρες στα μάτια όσων δεν μπήκαν ποτέ στο τρυπάκι να συλλέξουν τέτοιου είδους memorabilia. Οι τεχνικές του παρατυπίες είναι εριστικές, αλλά μακριά από το να αποτελέσουν το μεγαλύτερο πρόβλημα του παιχνιδιού. Όσο για το μέλλον, η λογική λέει πως θα υπάρξει κι άλλη εμφάνιση των δημιουργιών της Funko σε κονσόλες και PC. Αν όμως επαναληφθούν τα παραπάνω, τότε θα μιλάμε για τη μεγαλύτερη ταφόπλακα τιτανοτεράστιου εμπορικού brand κατά το πέρασμά του από το μέσο των videogames.

  Funko Fusion has all the necessary building blocks for a hit title but sadly due to poor design choices, clunky controls, repetitive levels, and a whole lot of technical issues, the game falls rather flat. When the game worked and the level design proved to be a little more than just bonking plastic figurines in the head, we actually enjoyed ourselves. Sadly, these moments were few and far between, and Funko Fusion ended up becoming a frustrating mess. Even so, there’s still a bit of a silver lining for those still hoping that the game could redeem itself, as the developers are clearly still actively patching the many technical issues.

  Funko Fusion is een behoorlijk teleurstellende game geworden. De versnipperde aard van zo’n grote hoeveelheid franchises in één game, de hele basale en behoorlijk saaie gameplay en de behoorlijk lege werelden konden helaas niet verbloemd worden door de vrij authentieke recreaties van de locaties uit de series, de grappige details in de personages die je ontmoet en de kleine details die wél goed uit de verf komen. Misschien was het beter geweest om iets meer overeenkomsten te zoeken tussen de franchises of simpelweg een enkele serie als inspiratiebron te gebruiken. Want voor nu deed Funko Fusion me meer aan een Monster van Frankenstein Pop! denken dan aan een leuke en unieke game.

  There's just too much to fix to make Funko Fusion worth your time. Even if all the broken issues were fixed, the onslaught of enemies, the confusing puzzles, and zero incentive to help the player will remain. Even after several patches to balance some of these issues, the overall product remains the same, and so will the fundamental issues affecting it.

  Funko Fusion is a simple game, perhaps overly so, following the footsteps of Travellers’ Tales’ iconic LEGO games but with the Funko figurines instead of the brick characters. The IP crossover aspect is sound, and the game is very accessible, but excessive repetition and a baffling lack of any form of co-op at launch, with online co-op but no local co-op coming down the line, surely severely crippling its value in the eyes of much of the target audience. Once co-op is finally added, as long as the online one fits the bill for you, I’d still recommend playing through the storyline at least once, at least to the people who are craving for a new LEGO-style adventure and are looking for a new twist or two on the formula.

  Funko Fusion es un primer acercamiento de la popular franquicia de las figuras a los videojuegos que se queda un poco a medias en todo. Jugablemente funciona, pero la repetitividad de sus misiones en todos y cada uno de los mundos provoca que podamos pensar en dejar el juego, a pesar del número de franquicias que homenajea.

  Funko Fusion avait pas mal d’arguments à faire valoir sur le papier, mais dont la retranscription dans la réalité est difficile. Il y a quelques touches d’originalité, mais elles sont noyées dans une multitude de déjà-vu, un gameplay qui n’arrive pas à décoller et une optimisation loin d’être au rendez-vous. Il y avait pourtant de quoi proposer un sacré crossover, mais l’occasion est indéniablement manquée. En l'état, il est très difficile de vous conseiller Funko Fusion, à moins d'être un grand fan de ces figurines atypiques.

  Way Too Many Games

  I have no idea who Funko Fusion was meant for, and I don’t know why this game even exists. Considering the mature sense of humor and somewhat obscure references, the simplistic gameplay loop and premise don’t fit at all with its “charming” Lego-esque vibes. There are so many sections that miss the mark, and this game relies fully on the series names and characters that are in it. Some of them might be neat, but rarely do they feel like a reason for you to even consider picking the game up. Add in game breaking bugs, softlocks and more, and there’s basically no reason to give Funko Fusion a go, even for an ironic playthrough.
