- Evil Dead: The Game – Game of the Year Edition is a worthy investment if you’re looking for some multiplayer action with decent cross-platform support. We loved the interesting DLC included in this bundle, but those not interested in that many cosmetic items can still opt to play the standard version of the game, and still have a lot of fun. As stated in our original review, this game is absolutely awesome and a great addition to the Evil Dead franchise.
Ibuki · May 21, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The best game of its kind that we've had the pleasure to play, Evil Dead: The Game is equivalent to its source material in being way more fun than you could reasonably expect it to be, and it's faithful as hell to the movies and TV show in a way that'll thrill fans. Post-launch support is a total roll of the dice — if the content ain't there, nor is the audience, and if the audience isn't there, there's no game, because the single-player content sure isn't picking up the slack.
Stuart Gipp · Feb 01, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Evil Dead: The Game is clunky but loveable. It's a very good movie-to-video game adaptation, and it's likely as close as we're going to get to a proper and decent "Evil Dead" video game. I had a good deal of fun with it, both as a fan of the movies and as a gamer. It twists a familiar game concept just enough and bolsters it with additional mechanics so that it feels fresh again.
Andreas Salmen · Aug 03, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Evil Dead certainly does not feel unfinished, but it does seem to be a first step towards something larger. Saber has an excellent multiplayer game that aspires to be a juggernaut in the hobby, and I hope players take notice.
Luke Winkie · Jun 23, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The game is a fun diversion and fun in groups and gives fans of the series the action and nostalgia they have come to expect. Some may cite a lack of initial depth to the gameplay and maps but I am sure as time goes on and more updates arrive, the game will continue to grow.
gareth · Jun 01, 2022 Reviewed onRead full review - Evil Dead: The Game is an absolutely awesome game and a great addition to the Evil Dead franchise. It is a game that is amazingly fun to play with friends but is equally enjoyable with a group of complete strangers. All you have to do is scavenge for some weapons and take on the oncoming horde of Deadites that is spawned by the enemy player or A.I.
MC_JP · Jun 01, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The atmosphere is potent, the combat is visceral and strong despite its heaviness, and there’s certainly a good potential for multiplayer pleasures here. But much like the characters’ clothing, sweat-dabbled skin and blood-soaked exteriors, The Evil Dead can start to stink of the same old formulaic multiplayer games we’ve played before. However, if you want a good time with mates The Evil Dead will do in a pinch, just don’t expect this nightmare to last long.
James Davie · May 29, 2022 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Evil Dead: The Game might just be the best Evil Dead game, but that doesn’t mean it's perfectly balanced yet. Thankfully, most of Evil Dead’s issues can be fixed with patches and content updates. Even the single-player missions would be improved by the addition of a checkpoint system.
Bryn Gelbart · May 27, 2022 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - It's an enriching and pleasant experience, mainly when playing with more people and, ideally, acquaintances, since building a collaborative team without discussion is futile and a guaranteed formula for failure. Playing with more people also makes the game more challenging, so playing with acquaintances is ideal. The dynamic shifts when we go to the multiplayer option, provided we can reach a consensus. We can only hope that this is a game that will manage to endure for the long term.
Rayan · May 27, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Despite its beauty, Evil Dead lacks polish. Characters become stuck on seemingly flat surfaces, items spill out of containers unnaturally, and matchmaking lobbies are frequently interrupted by player disconnections. And many minor frustrations pull the experience even further down. For example, as the Kandarian Demon, you can possess vehicles for 100 energy.
