- But who cares when Everhood Eternity Edition is so kaleidoscopic, a macabre Fantasia that massages the eyes, ears and nerves. Nobody is talking about it but everybody should: it’s a cult hit in the making, and now’s your chance to be the one who says ‘I played it before it was cool’.
Dave Ozzy · Oct 10, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - There's a lot to like about Everhood, with its unorthodox but engaging battles, bizarre world, and interesting story. While we didn't gel with many of the characters and found some of its insane visuals a little too much, overall we enjoyed the journey.
Stephen Tailby · Sep 27, 2023 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Everhood Eternity Edition allows more players to experience this tale about doing the right thing, along with more battles for those who enjoy it. I however didn’t feel the need to keep repeating the cycle, and while I found some enjoyment in the later part of the game, it didn’t hit all the right notes for me.
Paige Chamberlain · Sep 27, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - It’s great that Xbox players can now play this awesome musical adventure. Everhood is well-paced, offers a balanced difficulty, features great music, and takes players through one hell of a psychedelic trip that’s also bittersweet. You owe it to yourself to give this one a go.
Genghis Husameddin · Sep 27, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Everhood is a fantastic freshman effort that brings unexpected and refreshing spins to both the RPG and rhythm genre. The creative combat system and repeat-friendly soundtrack are definitely strong points but the thought-provoking story elevates the unusual adventure to excellent heights.
Poch Saldana · Mar 30, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - In what is an excellent example of genre-blending, Everhood takes the classic RPG formula and adds rhythm-based combat, creating a game that is perhaps best described as Undertale meets Guitar Hero. That’s not to say that Everhood feels derivative, as it is very much its own thing, although it’s hard not to compare Foreign Gnomes’ RPG to Toby Fox’ indie classic that took the world by storm a few years ago. As such, Undertale fans will find plenty to love here, but even if you haven’t played that game, Everhood is well worth a look.
SebastiaanRaats · Mar 23, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Everhood is one of the most memorable games we’ve played in recent years. Its utterly bonkers plot and weird cast of characters is reason enough to check it out, but the instantly accessible rhythmic combat will keep you hooked from the very first battle to the epic final boss encounter.
Ollie Reynolds · Mar 16, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It’s a hallmark of any outstanding game that in another scenario, riding the crest of its addictively well-crafted gameplay alone, would be enough to consider praise-worthy. It’s what the game does thereafter — both skirting the edges of its five lane-styled, rhythm-focused antics, as much delving straight into how all this functions and plays out — that truly gives Everhood a level of euphoria and utter amazement at the ideas and themes it professes.
Jordan Helm · Mar 14, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Overall, if I had to describe Everhood in a single word, it’d be “experiment.” It’s a game that tests interesting concepts to become its own thing. Combining adventure with RPG-Esque mechanics and an enjoyable take on rhythm combat that offers a unique experience for any looking for something new.
Ivanir Ignacchitti · Mar 08, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - I enjoyed playing Everhood and the music was extremely enjoyable, but before we could apply for the marriage certificate, I realized how loudly it breathes when it sleeps and now I just want to suffocate it. I’m still giving it a recommendation, because not everyone is going to share my grievances with the narrative and the technical issues can be ironed out. There’s some definite high points here, but I don’t think it’s going to achieve immortality.
