  • Enter The Gungeon is a must-own for roguelike fans. Years after its initial release, Dodge Roll has continued to breathe life into it, and if you haven’t given it a go for some time, you’ll be in for a real surprise, much like I was. I’m not entirely sold on the co-op, but just about everything else is top-notch, save for the occasional hitch and framerate drop.

  • It’s an unmissable game that truly feels at home here. And whether you’re playing for the first time or the 896th, it feels exciting, fresh and unique. Enter the Gungeon has always been a game that you must play, now, on the Switch, it’s a game you must OWN.

  • Enter the Gungeon is as heart-pumping as a Die Hard movie, and twice as charming. Bullet hell aficionados will be at home, but so will newbies. Randomly generated levels make this a perfect pick-up-and-play game, but if you get a few friends in the loop, you can make a total game night out of it. On charm, action, challenge, and fun, Enter the Gungeon fires on all cylinders.

  • It’s a hard game. It shamelessly fills your characters with lead, and laughs as you’re transported back to the first stage. It requires that you become a dodging savant in order to emerge victorious. Worst of all, it’s… occasionally stingy with keys! But none of these things are bad (except maybe the key thing). I love a game that can push me to my limits as a gamer, and genuinely make me feel happy when I’ve reached my goal. Enter the Gungeon does that. If causal games are your thing, maybe give this one a pass. But, for those of you out there looking for a fun, fearsome, and freaky fight for your life, then I suggest that you take a trip to the Gungeon yourself. You certainly won’t regret it.

  • Enter The Gungeon is about as good as it gets for scratching that roguelike itch. The dungeon-craw- excuse me, “gungeon-crawling” mixed with twin-stick shooting has proven in the past to be a solid gameplay setup, and here mixed in with the smooth dodge-roll mechanic plus the great amount of customizable guns makes every run-through fun and exciting.

  • The game looks great with its fantastic pixel art and also has a soundtrack that makes the game sound just as cool as it looks. If you are into puns and twin-stick shooters then Enter the Gungeon is probably for you. The game also features a co-op mode so if you aren’t into getting beat on alone you can bring a friend along for the bullet storm ride.

  • Enter The Gungeon is a brilliantly tactile, endlessly replayable twin-stick roguelike that sits right up there with the very best indie games on Nintendo Switch. With satisfying combat, random levels, and an endless supply of inventive weapons, items and secrets, it's always a total joy to play. Yet another modern indie classic has found a natural home on Nintendo's console.

  • If you enjoyed any other bullet hell rogue-likes, particularly Nuclear Throne or Binding of Isaac, I can’t recommend Enter the Gungeon enough. It has a few elements that some would consider design flaws, but these are easy to overlook when you step back and look at the whole picture and what is really being offered her: mayhem on a silver platter.

Enter the Gungeon is a roguelike game that works for players who usually find the genre frustrating. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, and while it might be long after the PC/PS4 release, Xbox One owners finally have a chance to see what the fuss is about. Don’t sleep on this game, it mixes the old with the new for a quality package worth shelling out the bullets for.

  • Enter the Gungeon is a wonderful, demanding yet rewarding, roguelike twin-stick shooter where the visuals marry perfectly with the gameplay to deliver one of the most addictive experiences in recent memory. Fans of Binding of Isaac, Spelunky et al sit up and take notice, Enter the Gungeon rolls with the punches and delivers an experience worth of sitting alongside these greats.
