  • For as satisfying as it can be that something is easily accessible and simple to play, it is of course a limitation. In the end, it will be above all the perfect average rating for a small pleasant adventure.

  • Elrentaros Wanderings has the makings of a lovely relaxing game, but its repetitive nature and frustrating side objectives kill those cosy vibes.

  • I think if you are okay with a pure grind, Elrentaros Wanderings might not turn you off the way it did me. But if you have even the slightest allergy to excessive banality, then this game is likely to have you heading for the hills. Its few good ideas are squandered by watering down the broth too much, stretching far too little content far too far. Not without any merit, but thoroughly disappointing.

  • I didn’t like Elrentaros Wanderings, and the things wrong with it are such that patches to fix the localization or adjust other elements wouldn’t salvage it. It’s a tedious game that doesn’t offer the sort of substance to make it feel in any way satisfying. There are better isekai adventures. There are better loot-based dungeon-crawlers. There are better titles where you can connect with people in the nearby village and perhaps even fall in love with them.

  • Overall Elrentaros Wanderings doesn’t have much to offer. There are a lot of different elements on display but none of them mesh together in a way that is satisfying and the game itself just comes across as an under-designed mess. Despite some cute character designs, the aesthetic of the game just isn’t pleasing to the eye and on the whole, it leaves a lot to be desired.

  • Underneath its unique plot device, Elrentaros Wanderings is a fairly standard JRPG, with interesting build mechanics but a severely lacking overworld and overarching story.

  • We didn't hate Elrentaros Wanderings' grindy dungeon-crawling gameplay. There are things to like, even if those moments are interspersed with long stretches of boring, repetitive enemy-bashing. There are hints of the trademark Rune Factory charm here and there, and the art is genuinely lovely, but this sparse action RPG feels like a new skin stretched far too thinly over the skeleton of a much better game.

  • I'm surprised by how much fun I had with Elrentaros Wanderings. Although it has limited gameplay, what's here is satisfying and its addictive blend of upgrading weapons with loot and completing challenges kept me coming back for more.

  • Elrentaros Wanderings is a well-crafted, well-designed game that is cleverly paced and set in an adorable fantasy world with great animation and movement. The combat is simple and the missions not particularly challenging, but even the elements that could be more fully realized don’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the game.

  • If you like cosy fantasy games, but with a hint of action, then Elrentros Wanderings comes highly recommended – as long as you’re okay with things getting a little repetitive at times.

About the game

The dual life where Fantasy meets Reality begins! A brand-new action RPG, “Elrentaros Wanderings”! The story is set in Elrentaros, a remote town far away from the capital of Melvania. The adventure begins as the protagonist visits this town and tries to help the residents, each with distinctive personalities. Suddenly, a mysterious light appears that leads the protagonist to a completely different world. Could it be that this world is the real world? Learn the secrets of the two worlds! You may select a male or a female protagonist. You are able to build a deeper relationship with the townspeople in Elrentaros by helping them solve their tasks. Among all the people in this town, there are 10 “Partner Characters” with whom you can develop a closer relationship. A useful battle feature “Alliance” can be unlocked when you send them gifts and elevate your friendship. If the relationship becomes more intimate, you can also invite them over for a meal or have them come and visit your tent. Prepare your “Build” with the Alliances, weapons and armor obtained during your journey, and take on the upcoming dungeons. When a dungeon is cleared, a more difficult “Challenge Level” will be made available to you. As higher-level weapons and armors can be obtained in more difficult dungeons, be sure to create a strong “Build” and challenge the dungeons as much as possible.
