  When all’s said and done, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an outstanding refinement and expansion of every good thing the original — now an undisputed cult classic — brought us, and this sequel is more than welcome, especially since its formula still manages to stand alone when it comes to RPGs.

  What Dragon’s Dogma 2 does well is the wonder of exploration and adventure. The world is beautiful, the Vocations are flashy, and the fights are bombastic. A hearty recommendation for old hats and fresh faces alike!

  Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a fantastic experience that comes with a lot of baggage. I suspect it will get those things ironed out over time, but if you can get past all these issues, this is an experience unlike any other. The world feels more alive than 99% of all other games. The sense of discovery is amazing, and there truly is nothing else like this out there. I highly recommend checking it out, or at least dipping your toes in with the extremely cheap original game. Capcom has done an amazing job of creating another unique experience that everyone should see at least once.

  Dragon's Dogma 2 è un titolo controverso che esce dai classici schemi e propone un’avventura al tempo stesso vecchia e innovativa. Alcune scelte controverse come il salvataggio unico e i viaggi rapidi limitati cozzano terribilmente con gli standard dei giochi moderni, mentre a livello di gameplay e intelligenza artificiale è uno dei titoli migliori degli ultimi anni. Peccato anche per una componente narrativa senza infamia e senza lode, ma se cercate un gioco in grado di sorprendervi tra esplorazione e creatività e non vi spaventano le sfide dove il gioco non vi prende per mano, allora Dragon's Dogma 2 sarà sicuramente intrattenervi.

  Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a game that understands what makes an open world enjoyable. The game is confident in its systems and refuses to undercut them by including features like readily available fast travel and checklists that are commonplace in more mediocre open worlds. Instead, it asks the player to engage in its world on its terms and refuses to compromise for convenience. It is a bold philosophy that may repel some players. However, I fell in love with Dragon’s Dogma 2 and see it as something all open-world games should strive to be. If not for performance issues and an AI that falls just short of being the ideal adventuring partner, it could have reached the rights of games like Red Dead 2, but for now, I’m sure its devoted fan base will be more than happy.

By trading modern guardrails for know-it-all handmade companions, it entrusts you with the 'venture' in action-adventure. But weak quests and animation jitters hold it back from excellence.

  Na lang wachten is Dragon's Dogma 2 er dan eindelijk. Fans van het eerste deel worden beloond met een game die nog steeds uitblinkt in de aspecten die het 12 jaar geleden zo populair maakten. Dragon's Dogma 2 is gewoon nog meer Dragon's Dogma; het blinkt uit in dezelfde aspecten die het eerste deel zo geweldig maakten en voegt daar nog meer aan toe. Meer vijanden, meer Vocations, meer mogelijkheden én natuurlijk een gloednieuwe wereld met nieuwe locaties die smeken om ontdekt te worden. Dat het verhaal dan matig is, valt te overzien, mede omdat het eerste spel ook geen verhaal had om over naar huis te schrijven. De soundtrack is ook ditmaal weer episch en weet je echt in de wereld van Dragon's Dogma 2 te bedwelmen. Fans van het eerste deel zullen ook in deel twee weer hun vermaak kunnen vinden. Het tegenovergestelde is echter ook waar: vond je het de eerste keer niets? Dan is Dragon's Dogma 2 nog steeds niets voor jou.

  Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a funny valentine. The graphics aren’t particularly stunning, quest progression can be vague, and it has some deliberately old-school ideas that are frustrating to deal with. Still, the game is able to capture a sense of freedom and wonder while delivering on challenging boss fights throughout exploration. It’s one of the few games that has made me want to investigate every inch of the world map without any prompting by the game through a notification or a quest. And I haven’t had that sensation in an astonishingly long time.
