This is a strange one for me. I'm not huge on VN's. I'm not huge on turn based menu combat. What I do like is for a game to feel cohesive and whole and this does. I am usually a VN dodger but having just come from playing Sakura Wars right through, I am loving this mixed genre of half VN, half RPG.

So the art is lovely, the OST is really nice. It's not top composition like Ys, Xeno, Tales levels but I really enjoy it.

The story telling is fine. The voices and dialogue don't grate on me. The fanservice isn't too overdone, it is there though and it is an irritation.

Combat is turn based but over multiple levels of height. I've played so many games with great, or unusual combat recently (Shining Force, Radiant Historia, Caligula Effect 2) that this just doesn't stand out but it's fun to have the extra dimension of height to think about. I certainly didn't dislike it.

I think the game would have really benefited from faster paced navigational sections and action combat.

So this is an edit. Having reached chapter 8 out of 11, it has really hit stale. The pacing is bad and it has got boring. I was ready for things to speed up and they have slowed right down.

Due to this, I have more important things to do than be bored by a game. That means I am retiring, which also means I have read and played hours of story to which I will never get the end. A complete waste of time. Practically halved my score now. Quite annoyed.

These companies need to start making their characters look a lot older if they insist on sexualising them. As a 40 year old bloke, it is a bit weird when there is a young teen with a massive pair of anime tiddies on screen.

I also like to take the p\*ss out of my step son and I can't say sh\*t when he calls me a Weeb if that is on the screen when he walks in. I'm the man of the house, I need to be doing the roasting, not getting roasted.
