  Sometimes you don’t know where to go or you need to grind some levels in order to move on, so it is really a matter of choices. Just know what you’re getting yourself into, that is the advice I want to give to the newcomers or gamers who’ve never played the first entry in Dragon Quest. But if you’re up for the task, you won’t be disappointed – not even by the choice of digital controls.

  Dragon Quest I isn’t simply propped up by its legacy and nostalgia. It’s a solidly-engineered adventure that is surprisingly open-ended. It can confidently be said Dragon Quest I is one of the best RPGs on mobile (possibly only bested by its big brothers), and though it’s a shorter game, its $2.99 price tag is perfectly reasonable.

  A classic, a museum piece, a nostalgia trip, and a reminder of just how much things can change, for better or worse, over the course of more than 25 years of game design advances. I think it's a game best experienced in portable format these days, but even with that in mind, it's still really only for those looking for a return to the most simple of times.

  Los más nostálgicos seguramente encuentren suficientes motivos para volver al reino de Alefgard para revivir una de las grandes aventuras de su infancia; además, respresenta una inmejorable ocasión para que los más jóvenes saquen provecho de los actuales smartphones y tablets y descubran una obra clave. Jugabilidad típica del género ?aunque algo primitiva respecto a todo lo que llegó más tarde?, gráficos retro a más no poder y toda la magia de los inicios de Dragon Quest

  ...Dragon Quest merupakan suguhan JRPG yang solid dengan harga yang cukup terjangkau untuk membuatmu sibuk melakukan grinding di sela-sela perjalananmu melakukan rutinitas sehari-hari. Walaupun dari sisi penampilan core gameplay dan juga story, Dragon Quest tidak bisa berbuat banyak untuk membuatmu melupakan umur dari game yang berusia 28 tahun ini. Setidaknya game mahakarya Yuji Horii yang satu ini bisa menjadi mesin waktu kamu untuk mengintip kebangkitan grinding ala JRPG di tahun 1986 silam.
