- Dragon Age: Inquisition represents a glorious return to form for the series, with its huge world to explore, great cast of characters, and immensely satisfying combat and character progression. Despite its flaws, this is easily a contender for RPG of the year, and a must-have for most any gamer.
Alex Langley · Nov 26, 2014 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Dragon Age: Inquisition is incredible. ...If you haven’t played a Dragon Age game before, now is the time. While Inquisition isn’t completely welcoming to newcomers, there are plenty of resources both in and out of the game to catch you up on what you’ve missed. If you’ve already played the first two games and haven’t picked this up yet, what are you waiting for?
Sam Paterson · Nov 21, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Set aside a good few weeks of your life, because the Inquisition takes no prisoners when it comes to your free time. An RPG that manages to successfully tie an engrossing, engaging narrative to a vast, explorable world, BioWare's fantasy epic is one of the studio's greatest achievements. With superb writing and rewarding gameplay, Dragon Age: Inquisition offers just about everything that you could want from a genre that's been sorely missed on the PS4.
Robert Ramsey · Nov 21, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Dragon Age: Inquisition is a huge game. And I’m not even sure the word ‘huge’ does it justice. There’s so many places to go and so much to do that it’s a bit overwhelming, but also refreshing that I can choose what to do, where to do it, and when. ...Inquisition is just flat out awesome -- not the most eloquent phrase to use in a review, but it’s true.
Lance Liebl · Nov 21, 2014 Reviewed on PS4, XB1Read full review - Dragon Age: Inquisition is the game that Dragon Age II should have been. Set in one of the most diverse and awe-inspiring game worlds in quite some time, Inquisition will have you searching every nook and cranny, spreading your influence as far as you can get it. Let down by a few bugs and some questionable design choices, it's still one of the year’s best RPGs. Easily.
Dan Webb · Nov 20, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - You'll want to turn your completionist tendencies off in order to adequately balance out the marginal filler and the mind-blowingly essential. Manage to do this and you'll be rewarded with one of the most involving RPG narratives going. If you ever make it out of the pub.
Matt Sakuraoka-Gilman · Nov 19, 2014 Reviewed on PS4 - The real reward though is using them to scan the gloriously sculpted landscape, realizing that, yes, of course, you can actually go there. ...The deep bass effect that builds to a climax each time you close a rift is so satisfying you'll find yourself timing the blast with a hand gesture just for the fun of it. ...Every detail and system in Dragon Age: Inquisition supports the whole experience. It's remarkable.
Greg Tito · Nov 18, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Dragon Age: Inquisition contains a whole lot of legitimately fun content and pairs it with a like amount of superfluous busywork, but even the optional quests wind up being enjoyable thanks to the quality of the presentation and its satisfying combat mechanics. It’s a welcome return to form for a franchise that felt adrift after Dragon Age 2, and is easily recommendable to RPG fans who have a spare few weeks to dedicate to a single game.
Matthew Rorie · Nov 18, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Yet Dragon Age: Inquisition is one of those rare games where its flaws sound severe on paper, but often melt away when you’re actually playing. We can’t remember the last time we’ve been so thoroughly absorbed by a virtual place or so attached to a cast of characters. In that sense, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a flawed journey, but it’s one that we eagerly want to return to.
Ben Moore · Nov 17, 2014 Reviewed on XB1 - By offering such a breadth of content and then giving the player great freedom, Bioware greatly risks overwhelming many players - but that risky scattershot approach has, I feel, paid off here. If you're the type of player who loves that kind of freedom, you're in for an incredible treat. It's certainly the best Dragon Age has ever been.
