  There are some improvements, too. You can choose between the original canned soundtrack or a new one, and the two player co-op via bluetooth is awesome, especially when you tune the difficulty level to "expert". We can only ask for more innovative features, perhaps a character creator or something. Absolutely recommended. If you played DD at the time, you can't lose this chance to revive the magic.

  Double Dragon Trilogy is a solid remastering of the beat-'em-up classics from the arcades of the late 80s — barring the awkwardness of touch-screen controls for those without gamepads. But the games have lost some of their edge, more than 20 years on.

  The flaws from the originals do not translate well to today’s market. And unfortunately, DotEmu has done little to address this. Still, these are exact ports, and if you can overlook the controls and some of the rough edges, Double Dragon Trilogy might take you back to the arcades of old.

  Thirty years later, however, and these games haven't aged as well. They're definitely not without their fun, and boy do you get a lot of content for your buck, but if you're looking for complexity you may be disappointed. If you're looking for an ass-beating, '80s-infused good time that's playable on your iOS device, however, look no further.

  Double Dragon Trilogy has some serious problems. A lot of those are inherent to the games themselves, and I'm going to be honest and say I'd rather have a NES trilogy than an arcade trilogy for this series.
