- Dorfromanik succeed in nearly all it sets out to do – delivering a fun, relaxing and addictive gameplay loop that’s perfectly suited for the Switch. If you want a game that’s easy to pick up and play in and play in between this holiday’s bigger release, Dorfromanik is just the ticket.
Freddie Green · Dec 12, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Dorfomantik does what every good puzzle game should do: offers smart simplicity. It’s a simple to understand but increasingly challenging game that people must check out. It’s a relaxing game for people looking for a chill experience and honestly, it’s a refreshing change people should enjoy.
Jesse Taylor · Oct 17, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Dorfromantik may not have a ton of staying power, but it offers up a satisfying and chill puzzle experience that we feel is worthwhile in the end.
Mitch Vogel · Oct 15, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Dorfromantik balances its strategic and cozy elements well, and it's easy to fall into a serene trance of dropping tiles. Pulling the camera back to reveal the full scope of my landscape always feels like a satisfying reward for my subtle, hard work, much like stepping back to admire a finished painting.
Marcus Stewart · Oct 03, 2022 Reviewed on Switch - Despite the control issues, I’ve been enchanted by Dorfromantik because it’s a zen-like relaxing game that keeps me engaged with bountiful variety and just-enough strategy. If you’re seeking a level-based puzzle challenge or a boisterous multiplayer experience, Dorfromantik won’t be for you, but if you’re down for some low-key tile tinkering, this is a gem.
Neal Ronaghan · Sep 30, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Dorfromantik is a brilliant idea that adapts the genre of city builders to the puzzle genre without sacrificing the strategy elements that make for compelling gameplay, providing a soothing environment in which to construct picturesque villages that exist in harmony with their natural surroundings.
Rayan · Sep 24, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Fortunately, Dorfromantik is set up in such a perfect way it’s effortlessly offered me a much-needed reprieve from all of the things that have been weighing heavily on me, and for that alone, I can't recommend the game enough. Also with that in mind, I strongly recommend the game to anyone who might be going through something, or who struggles with anxiety like I do.
Morgan Shaver · May 03, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - I won’t argue that Dorfromantik seems to meet its vision and philosophy quite well. If there’s feedback I can actually give it, it’s that I’d love to see more variation in tiles. There are “biomes” that you can find by branching out far enough, but these merely change the colors of the trees, ground, and houses.
Zoey Handley · Apr 28, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Overall, Dorfromantik is definitely recommended for players who admire puzzles and architecture. Either you have a peaceful time creating random cities or get stressed in pushing yourself in topping the leaderboards while building an optimized city.
Alec Padua · Aug 28, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Dorfromantik is the perfect digital toybox for anyone who wants to build something and not worry about much other than its beauty. Some fiddly controls definitely need a rework, but they are the lowest obstacle to enjoying the experience. Everything’s lovely, and that’s good.
