- Diablo 4 on Switch 2 offers addictive ARPG gameplay and expansions, but technical struggles and the requirement to play online limit its potential.
Alister Kennedy · Oct 21, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - 8.5 Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection is available now on Switch 2. Previously available on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
· Sep 28, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.
Justin Prinsloo · Mar 24, 2024 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Diablo IV is a decent continuation of the series with satisfying combat, a fun world to explore, an interesting story, and great visuals. For the most part, the game proved to be an entertaining experience, and it was a lot of fun to mess around with different classes and builds. We mainly enjoyed our multiplayer experiences, which did make a lot of the bullet sponge sequences a lot more bearable.
Ibuki · Jun 23, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Diablo IV has been an incredibly long time coming and it’s been more than worth the wait. It has a massive world that always offers something to do, even if it is slightly repetitive. Whilst it’s not perfect, the amazingly addictive core gameplay and character building will keep me coming back for more months, or hopefully years, down the line.
Kyle Nicol · Jun 23, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Diablo IV is the spark to rekindle the flames of this series’ greatness. The enemy variety and combat don’t hold up when to its predecessor, but over time I believe this will evolve into the best entry of the series to date. The option to mix up builds with enhancements and skill points adds a high level of customization to the experience and keeps every moment unique. However, we may need this game to cook in hell a bit longer for it to be the Diablo we’ve been waiting for.
Nathan Mejia · Jun 23, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - While it is been popular some players and local community boards have been vocal about criticism for the game which I believe has varied from nitpicking to valid but I can honestly say I enjoyed this game significantly more than Diablo 3 and for me, Diablo IV is one of the best releases of the year and has been an enjoyable gaming experience throughout despite some frustrations along the way.
gareth · Jun 22, 2023 Reviewed on PC, PS5, Series X|S, PS4, XB1Read full review - As I’ve previously mentioned, Diablo IV is a blast to play. I like the much darker overall vibe than Diablo III and the unrelenting brutal storyline throughout. The variety of class builds and how Diablo IV unfolds the complexity over time helps new players get into it and delivers variation and fun for veterans.
Robin Baird · Jun 21, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Diablo IV is an extremely good Diablo game, and that is all it needs to be. It doesn't change much, and it focuses on polishing what the franchise already did well. It's always difficult to tell how these kinds of games will develop; by the end of its life cycle, Diablo III was almost unrecognizable compared to its launch state. Barring some terrible missteps, Diablo IV has everything it needs to grasp your soul with its malevolent claws and eat up hours of your life.
David Silbert · Jun 14, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - In many ways, Diablo 4 calls to mind last year’s seminal Elden Ring, in that it represents a beloved developer and franchise taking the bold step into an open world structure and achieving unprecedented levels of success in the process. Whether it reaches the same lofty heights as FromSoftware’s masterpiece remains to be seen, but the quality of the launch experience, and the promises made regarding maintenance and improvement going forward, are incredibly hopeful signs.
