    It looks good and sounds creepy and unsettling and though Renegade Kid has tweaked the gameplay and systems to make it friendlier, Dementium Remastered is still a victim of some awkward controls, borderline bland level design and an overall feeling of repetition.

    The game’s central issue is that, frustratingly, the hallways and offices of the asylum all look the same, with not even a change in wallpaper color from one floor to the next. You can get turned around very easily, and one wonders how many closets one hospital needs.

    If you're hoping for a story at all, you'll be disappointed. The opening just drops you right into a mental ward without much of any information, and barely anything gets revealed throughout the story. The ending was the rotten cherry on top that just screams directly into your face "find out what happens next in the sequel."

    Still, the boss difficulty, weapon switching and sounds can be irritating, leaving in some of the problems from the original. Still, if you can endure its quirks Dementium Remastered is a strong horror shooter on the system, with fun combat and a tense atmosphere combining well.

    For $14.99, Dementium Remastered is a bit steep for a game that is pretty short and has very little replay value. The puzzle solutions and bosses are identical to the original, and the overall campaign takes place in only one location.

    Dementium Remastered is a great addition to the eShop, and shows the higher polished side of things that are available on it. The game packs quite a punch in terms of presentation, and the gameplay is mostly there to match it. If you are a fan of horror games or FPS games, then this is a game that you should check out this holiday season.

    O que parecia ser uma boa ideia acabou por ser a coisa mais assustadora em Dementium Remastered, há remakes que nunca deveriam ter sido feitos e este é um deles. Trata-se de um jogo completamente dispensável no catálogo da 3DS, tanto para quem conhece o original como para os que nunca o jogaram.
