The game has also seen quite a bit of enhancements since the original launch cleaning up performance issues and tweaking game play balance. The host of accessibility options added to the game are immense. Adding in several toggles to make the game less frustrating on all fronts including a one-shot mode for those struggling with the combat. There is also the option to toggle infinite revives so players can remove the penalties of death.

  • Despite the lacking AI, Deathloop is a modern-day classic that should not be overlooked by anyone, something that should hopefully now be made easier by having its audience extended to the Xbox.

  • Deathloop is the best game Arkane has ever made, which is saying something. It is a brilliant culmination of their learnings over the years, and I absolutely love it. World-class writing, world-building, and story are matched with fun gameplay, great performance, and one of the smartest game worlds I’ve ever seen.

  • The game’s art director, went about his brief with a desire to conjure a fever of Fleming-style espionage, while grounding it in bleakness and splicing it with sci-fi. The result is a world of swinging thrills that is never far from darkness—where you don’t only live twice, and where tomorrow always dies.

  • Deathloop is an ever-evolving mystery that spools out, unravels as you pick and poke and pop bullets into Clockwork Orange goons. There aren't too many games that nail their vibe as hard as this one.

  • As much of an odyssey as it was, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Deathloop. It's one of the more thoughtful and well-crafted games out there and one of the best things you can play on the PS5. In addition to everything else, I liked the game's sexy, graphic-novelish cartoon vibe in its visuals that made every area burst to life and fun to explore. It's a true piece of art and is definitely worth your time … over and over.

  • The game had the potential to truly be incredible if it could just address a few things – some lackluster story reveals, a more even difficulty throughout, and better AI. Also, it just needs a thread to tie all of these various time-inspired mechanics together to make a truly unique experience. Overall, it’s great but I hope Arkane can improve on its formula in the inevitable sequel.

  • Deathloop is an awesome first-person shooter with an intriguing story, some unique game mechanics, and great gameplay. The goal to collect information on all the Visionaries, to eventually be able to kill them all in one day, surely keeps you going until the end. For a long time, you’ll keep on discovering new information and locations as you progress, which keeps the game interesting.

  • With a game that has players re-living the day on multiple occasions, you’d be forgiven for thinking that it would become stale. But each day plays differently as you learn clues to the visionaries and their daily patterns. And even though the Eternalists inhabit the same locations when you visit at the same time period, the skills and weapons you have acquired and imbued with Residuum allows gamers to play each section in a completely different manner.

  • Deathloop delivers a tense and exciting story from start to finish. Layers upon layers of complex and polished narrative elements build a juggernaut of storytelling perfection. With all of this built on top of solid gun controls, simple yet effective stealth mechanics and some pretty wacky special powers you have a game that delivers everything it should in all areas.
