  • Dead Ahead's artwork is excellent as well as its spicy sense of humor. The guy is controlled with three basic buttons: attack, accelerate and move up-down to avoid obstacles. Controls are responsive but it's quite easy to mis-tap them (should be bigger). The main flaw has to do with its too aggressive and intrusive in-app purchase (IAP). Besides that, the game is playworthy.

  • By the way, gold in Dead Ahead is relatively simple to obtain. There are power-ups that give a temporary boost, and if you missed them, can be blown up, along with zombies in the back. Dead Ahead is ripe with interesting mechanics, and I liked it quite a lot. If you’re not too irritated by the free-to-play mechanics (and they are kind of irritating), this game is great.

  • Dead Ahead is a free game, so you’re not really losing anything by giving it a try. It’s kind of funny, and it can be a little fun when you manage to get a really high kill combo going. Other than that, it’s a pretty typical endless runner that doesn’t leave much of a lasting impression.

  • Ironic then that a game about zombies would make me feel both happy and solitary, and yet, here we are. Dead Ahead is fun, but it ticks me off. Take that for what you will. Ride away from zombies as fast as you can — but the ads are unavoidable, as is the IAP.

  • Dead Ahead is a great endless runner with plenty to offer, even to those who have grown to hate seeing zombies in their games. I certainly wouldn’t mind having a third control option for tilting to make dodging obstacles at high speeds a little easier (theoretically), but what’s already there is more than enough to get the job done. I also never get tired of watching the gloriously animated zombie carnage, so there’s that.

  • I found this pretty cool for a few reasons. For one, it didn’t feel like an icky cash grab at all. Rather, it was just an option that was available for you. It also kinda felt like an old-school cheat option, like a hotline you could call up, pay a buck for, and get a cheat code or hints. ...If you played last year’s Punch Quest, you will find lots of familiar elements with this title. And since Punch Quest was one of the best iOS games last year, that’s some good company in which to be included..

  • Some might find the occasional adverts that pop up after a drive a little annoying, but Dead Ahead is still an entertaining arcade blaster that looks gorgeous and plays elegantly. A simply executed, lovely-looking zombie killer, Dead Ahead has enough to keep you entertained for a good long while
