  • Overall, Dance Central 2 is simply a fantastic dancing game and stands as arguably the best one on the Xbox 360 to date. Great tunes, stellar looking visuals, and some terrific new features pretty much sums up Dance Central 2. Granted, the game could have benefited from an online or party mode, but what you do get is very good, and at the very least, better than the previous game.

  • If you've played the original Dance Central, you know pretty much what to expect from the sequel. However, Dance Central 2 is far from a carbon copy of its predecessor, introducing tons of new moves and modes to help players get into the groove. The dance itself hasn't changed, but the steps have been updated, and at the end of the day, that's all this franchise really needed

  • Dance Central 2 is better than Dance Central, though that margin will vary significantly depending on how dissatisfied you were with the original’s lack of two-player support or a structured story mode to ease you into the experience. Personally, I was happy to just have more Dance Central, but what I got was better than that.

  • Again, Dance Central 2 is the best game you can get for Microsoft's Kinect device. You won't find a game with better body tracking tech, and that brings Dance Central 2 far above its peers. The first game set a new high bar for dancing titles, but this one adds solid multiplayer, a career mode, great new songs, and a deep instructional mode that can even teach a lanky games blogger some moves

  • Put any scepticism you might have about the "casual" nature of dance games aside: Dance Central 2 is an immensely entertaining game that is simultaneously accessible and challenging and is sure to delight anyone with an urge to hit the dancefloor

When I mentioned to a fellow IGN employee that I was working on the Dance Central 2 review, she asked if she could watch. This single spectator soon turned into a small audience comprised of women that work around the office in various departments. To me, this shows the unconventional appeal of the dancing genre. People love to dance. And Dance Central 2 gives you a fun way to share that love with friends

  • The same can be said for each of the decisions Harmonix has made for the sequel to the Kinect's strongest title. Sure, some decisions, like doubling the number of simultaneous dancers, were obvious improvements -- but that shouldn't diminish Harmonix's achievement. This team of rhythm game veterans have proven once again that they are, as they always have been, masters of progressive iteration

  • With the inclusion of multiplayer, Dance Central 2 has become the definitive dance game on any console far surpassing its competitors. Thoughtful and intricate choreography that is still fun but accessible, a song list that is familiar and current with a depth of gameplay has made this title both challenging for previous Dance Central converts yet still welcoming for newcomers

  • Even though it's more of a remix than a revolution, Dance Central 2’s improved modes, multiplayer options, and base functionality make it difficult for anyone fond of the first game to pass up. Nimbly straddling the line between technical and accessible, the series continues to be one of the best dancing games out there, if not one of the best games on Kinect period

  • Dance Central 2 keeps good track of your body posturing, and the improved Break it Down mode makes it easier than ever to learn new moves. If you have a Kinect, you’ll want to keep Dance Central 2 spinning at your next party
