- It’s hard to knock the Delicious Last Course on anything other than I just didn’t find it very fun — as was the case with the base game. Everything else though, from performance to visuals and music, is top notch. If you’re a bit of a glutton for punishment and want some more bosses to fight, the Delicious Last Course might be up your alley. And, for only $7.99, it’s pretty easy on the wallet.
Justin Sharp · Sep 02, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is a fantastic addition to the Cuphead package that offers more of everything you loved about the game. Unfortunately, the only downfall really is how short it feels, and the unbalance of the solo and co-op difficulty. Despite it being fairly short for me, mileage may vary depending on how hard it kicks your ass, or if you’re a glutton for punishment and want to ace the entire island.
Jordan Hawes · Aug 24, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - As for Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, it is a serving that was well worth the long wait. For the price of a meal deal at a tacky fast-food restaurant, you are getting a gourmet dish that is unlikely to leave you feeling bloated.
Darren Palma · Aug 22, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The charming visuals, sound effects, and music build on the unique art style of the base game while still standing out with fun, albeit sometimes frustrating, encounters. The story conveys a new and dangerous adventure for Cuphead and Mugman who are joined by the sweet but formidable Ms. Chalice.
Jamie Russo · Jul 05, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Cuphead - The Delicious Last Course is a great little expansion that adds new life to one of the Switch's most entertaining games. It may be a tad on the short side but what's here is absolutely fantastic and it's reasonably priced to take its length into account. If you have the original, this is essential.
Chris Scullion · Jul 04, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is more Cuphead — for better or worse. Those put off by the original's difficulty may find the experience easier to swallow due to the excellent inclusion of Ms Chalice. But the game still has the same brand of punishing gameplay we’re used to from the original. The expansion adds some of the most inventive bosses Studio MDHR has ever come up with, backed up with that amazing animation and music which has never looked or sounded better.
Scott McCrae · Jul 04, 2022 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Ultimately, the new DLC is a great example of quality over quantity and is an easy blanket recommendation for any fans of the original game. Newcomers, however, may want to do their homework before pulling the trigger. Because like the devil at the heart of Cuphead, The Delicious Last Course demands your blood, sweat, and soul.
Dylan Chaundy · Jul 04, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course thankfully doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. It takes the already-phenomenal gameplay of Cuphead, and just adds more Cuphead on top. Miss Chalice is also a great new character, making going back to the base game fun, even if you’ve already finished it.
Shunal Doke · Jul 04, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The Delicious Last Course is everything a Cuphead fan could ask for – more of everything the world fell in love with in 2017. This DLC’s colourful cast of baddies are just as challenging and intricate as any you can find in the base game, while Studio MDHR’s gorgeous hand-drawn art style means they’re brought to life phenomenally. As an added bonus, the smart moveset of Ms. Chalice means that even if you struggled with Cuphead in the past, this DLC is worth giving it another shot.
Andy Brown · Jul 02, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - For years our appetite grew for the Cuphead expansion, and while The Delicious Last Course can be gobbled up within a few hours, it was definitely worth the wait. The love and passion that is within every thread of the creation are evident throughout and make each moment a pleasure to play. Bosses ascend to new levels of greatness and are a benchmark for the genre. The expressive jazz score and the faithful design help to make this finger-licking dollop of DLC an absolute masterpiece.
