- There's almost too much to talk about with Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, but rest assured that this is a return to form for the series. It might be tough, even a little mean at times, but this is the proper sequel fans have been asking for. With so much to see and do, this is a stylish, confident 3D platformer that brings Crash back at his best.
Stephen Tailby · Jun 29, 2022 Reviewed on PS5, PS4Read full review - In conclusion, Crash Bandicoot 4 About Time is the sequel that fans of the original trilogy were waiting for so long, a natural follow up in all aspects while also having a nostalgic sensation surrounding it. In short, words, if You have great memories of the Bandicoot and his adventures, you definitely don’t want to skip this game.
Danny Cruzatty · Sep 20, 2021 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It’s amazing that a series that has been so beloved by fans, and has spawned countless spin-offs - some great, and some not so much - has managed to return without feeling any different. It’s like the past 20 years has been one long fever dream for Crash, and he’s now awoken from a deep slumber for one last triumphant return.
Chad Norton · Apr 11, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Sometimes it can be a bit too frustrating, much in the way the series has always been, but often those challenges are optional. You don’t have to smash every crate. You don’t have to make that tricky, gravity-defying leap just to snag those extra wumpa fruit. You don’t have to shave a few seconds off your best dash though a stage.
Oscar Taylor-Kent · Apr 09, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - A great game, even if it's horribly frustrating a lot of the time. While it's a wonderful follow-up to a classic series, this port makes it a bit of a tougher sell than other versions of the game.
Andrew Farrell · Mar 30, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a great port of a fantastic, beautiful game that’s just a little bit too bloated with frustrating content for completionists. When it works it really soars above most modern platformers, but much like Crash itself it feels like it has a problem focusing on one thing at once.
George Foster · Mar 24, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Even if the PS5 edition isn't a game-changer, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is still a delightfully charming title. The environments are bright and colorful, the characters are filled with emotion, the music is bright, and the overall experience just as charming as Crash Bandicoot was so many years ago.
Chris "Atom" DeAngelus · Mar 24, 2021 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Overall, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on Nintendo Switch is well worth picking up if you liked the version that came out on console earlier this year and want a portable copy. It holds up very well on Nintendo’s system, and springs a few surprises with how well it handles everything.
Stacey Henley · Mar 23, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time resurrects this classic series in an authentic fashion. While a modern adventure with maximum replayability is a godsend for fans, a lot of what made the original Crash games rough around the edges is also present in this iteration, with inaccurate platforming and frustrating difficulty.
Steven Green · Mar 15, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is an excellent modernization of a decades-old franchise that was beginning to really show its age. This is a thoroughly entertaining, slick and addictive addition to the series that funnels players through a meaty campaign packed to bursting point with inventive set-pieces and devilishly devious level design.
