- Overall, Cities: Skylines’ technical performance is not completely top-shelf, but it gets the job done. I rarely noticed choppy frame-rates, and bearing in mind the console we’re working with, I’d say a massive feat like porting a complex city-builder deserves some credit. Of course, the mechanics require a little patience when trying to place things perfectly, but for the most part, I was impressed at how natural the controls felt in relation to how many actions and menus there are.
Haley Perry · Sep 26, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - I can understand the appeal of wanting to put any title on Nintendo’s massively popular console, but I’m surprised publisher Paradox Interactive didn’t attempt to make an original version of Cities for the Switch. That would have been far more preferable than whatever we’ve ended up with.
Peter Glagowski · Sep 25, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Cities: Skylines - Nintendo Switch Edition has so much potential and offers a fine alternative to SimCity’s broken reboot, but this game needed to be revamped and re-approached for Switch in a way that doesn’t turn it into a performance quagmire. Sadly, this is a game better played elsewhere.
Dom Reseigh-Lincoln · Sep 19, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Cities: Skylines takes a classic game design template and updates it with minimum fuss and considerable style. It might not be the type of game you’d normally want to take over the family TV, but it’s hard to imagine a better console execution.
Daniel New · Sep 11, 2017 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Cities: Skylines – PlayStation 4 Edition brings an excellent city-simulator to consoles offering an amazing interface and excellent visuals. Everything is straightforward in terms of gameplay and the game feels like a modern take on the older and excellent versions of Sim City. While the console version may lack some of the content the PC version does, there is more than enough here to keep anyone busy.
Cory Wells · Aug 17, 2017 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Cities: Skylines is the spiritual successor to Simcity you've been waiting for.
Cade Onder · Aug 16, 2017 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Cities: Skylines is an impressively-detailed simulation, to be sure, and it’s a lot of fun once you start to get things up and running, with the caveat that getting it up and running is a lot easier said than done.
Jowi Girard-Meli · Aug 15, 2017 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Cities Skyline is a welcome addition to the Xbox One, and consoles in general. It’s a competently made city building game, one that hasn’t been dumbed down for those that prefer a console to PC. It may take a while for the game to open up and kick into gear, but when it does, there is no limit to what you can build.
John Whitehouse · May 03, 2017 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - City: Skylines is not by any means an easy game to get into. Those first few hours can be really tedious and the lack of a time acceleration option definitely hinders its pace. Yet, once you smash through the boredom barrier, you’ll find that Cities: Skylines offers nearly everything you could want from a city-building sim.
Chris Mc · Apr 26, 2017 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Once you get a feel for the game, Cities: Skylines can be quite satisfying and fun to play. But getting there can feel like trying to build a house without blueprints and only a vague idea of how to use each tool.
