- Capsized is another fine example of what a small development team can accomplish with enough ambition and talent. The game is good-looking, entertaining and boasts a fluidity of play many bigger games would envy. Even with a handful of minor missteps, it's a clever, interesting platformer worth every cent of its asking price and every hour spent playing it.
Neilie Johnson · May 19, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - At the end of the day, Capsized left us with very mixed emotions. We wanted to love it and enjoy it to the fullest, but the troublesomely inefficient controls stood tall between us and pure fun. If you think you’re patient enough to get past this hindrance, then by all means, the game assuredly deserves a look.
Dave Letcavage · Aug 05, 2013 Reviewed on X360Read full review - It doesn’t do much that plenty of other games haven’t already, ... there’s enough here to make it worth diving into.
Mikel Reparaz · Jul 17, 2013 Reviewed on X360 - ... may never attain the name recognition of older 2D games it does manage to seek out new life in an old genre.
Rob Slusser · Jul 11, 2013 Reviewed on X360 - In essence, Capsized brings to the table a well-balanced run-and-shoot style game that can still be enjoyed even after being around for a couple of years. The arcade genre is constantly filled with class and yet are so cheap—this one definitely is no different. And for 10 bucks, what do you have to lose trying it out?
Devin Charles · Jul 08, 2013 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Capsized isn’t without its fair share of problems, nor does it provide something you haven’t seen before. Still, it does a great job telling a story of survival and creates an eerie ambience worth experiencing. Not everyone will appreciate its perplexing soundtrack, nor tolerate its iffy controls, but if you don’t mind putting up with some irritating moments and would rather play the game on your console, this little astronaut tale is for you.
Giancarlo Saldana · Jul 08, 2013 Reviewed on X360Read full review - ...a great and progressive return to gaming’s adventuring roots
Alex Wiltshire · May 11, 2011 Reviewed on PC - Though Capsized may not be a complete package, it is an enthralling one. It's rare that you get to explore a gameworld teeming with this much life, in which the artistic design and soundscape work together to provide such a delightfully alien atmosphere.
Chris Watters · May 03, 2011 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The 2D platformer is not dead. Capsized proves that current-gen design philosophies and gameplay mechanics can be applied to this ancient genre, making it feel fresh once again. There is a lot of innovation in this title, and an artwork style that you'll want to stop and stare at. Not bad for a mere ten dollars, I would say. I just hope Capsized can be patched to support more controller types in the future.
