  • More complex puzzles, smoother controls and a longer run time could have pushed this up to recommended, but as it is I’d say play it if you have nothing better to do, but don’t expect your gaming world to be lit up too brightly.

  • Bulb Boy excels in the horrifyingly twisted world that it inhabits, delivering an unworldly experience that will linger in your memory long after you see it through to completion. Illuminatingly unique, it proves to be yet another Nintendo eShop release that is not to be missed.

  • Bulb Boy is a wonderful addition to the Switch, especially if you’re looking for something a little more unusual.

  • Impressive effort with a few noticeable problems holding it back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.

  • Bulb Boy won’t stay in your memories forever; it is a relatively small game that shouldn’t take too long to complete, but whilst it lasts it offers nicely designed puzzles and an underlying humour that offers a different experience.

  • If you’re looking for a unique game experience on the Switch that isn’t terribly expensive and will provide you with a few hours of varying challenges and laughs, Bulb Boy delivers quite handsomely.

  • Admittedly, Bulb Boy is a bit on the short side, as you can beat it in a couple of hours without too much difficulty. Walkthrough videos can be found online, too, if you do get stuck at any point, due to the game having released on PC before this. It's not the best point-and-click adventure game you'll ever play, nor is it the lengthiest experience. But it's got charm in spades, and is a great way to spend a couple of hours.

  • Bulb Boy certainly has an intriguing visual concept but lays it on a bit thick with the weird and wacky side of things later on without really explaining why, or even bothering to draw everything together into a cohesive package.

  • Everything about it oozes a delightful charm that makes this an excellent addition to the indies available on the Switch. Though I can’t say for certain what the replay value would be, Bulb Boy is better than your average independent horror film and runs even longer.

  • Bulb Boy’s uniqueness is outstanding, offering a very stylish and charismatic game that blends creepiness and cuteness in a creative way. While it’s also true that you won’t be in this bright little boy’s shoes for too long, the glimpse of his world will be more than worth the walk.
