If, however, you’ve already played these games to death, you may want to just wait for the next entry in the series. You do have the option of bringing your save over to the Handsome Collection though, which is a nice bonus feature.

As such, it's a remaster that trades more on the quality and breadth of the content available. With these two solid games and all of their expansive DLC, it's a solid package even with its iffy technical performance. If you're looking to experience Borderlands again or for the first time and don't have access to a gaming PC, this package is an easy recommendation.

If you've already taken this ride before on PlayStation 3 (or in Borderlands 2 on PS Vita), you might want to think twice before parting with more cash for the PlayStation 4 version.

These are still great games with great humor, tight gameplay and dozens of hours of content. Outside of the remastering, there’s nothing here for anyone who has played Borderlands 2 and all its DLC, or purchased The Pre-Sequel and its Season Pass. For anyone who skipped either game, or their many DLC episodes, however, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is a fine catch.

Even if it has some issues here and there, it’s still fun. This package is a steal.

It's the best way to experience two great titles if you don't have a gaming PC, has more (good) content than most people will ever play and features new local multiplayer support. If you're new to the series or looking to jump in, you could well be playing this until Gearbox release Borderlands 3.

For the older fans of series this is not much beyond what you already know, but it is definitely worth a look simply because of the graphic upgrades and the new four player split-screen option.
