- An arcade mode asks players to see how far they can reach on a single life, endless mode is randomly generated which keeps you on your toes and the challenge mode is ludicrously bonkers – pick three bosses and fight them all at the same time! Even the game knows how crazy this is stating the mode is “totally unbalanced – just for fun.” I think that sums much of the game, although the balance elsewhere is on point, Bleed 2 is simple, unadulterated fun.
Dan Lipscombe · Apr 10, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - While the original Bleed had its moments of action-packed chaos, it failed to keep me interested past the final stage; however the sequel prioritizing its bosses and various tweaks to the gameplay grabbed my attention to a point where I had to replay it over and over. The depth here in Bleed 2 may seem lacking to some, but to those wanting to hone their action-platformer skills, this one is a strong recommendation.
Harrison Milfeld · Mar 21, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Bleed 2 is a very accurately named game. In many ways it could be seen as a level pack for its predecessor, but the few small changes in the design all help to make it a better experience. These kinds of short, creative games are perfect for the eShop, and if we see Bleed 3 at some point I wouldn’t hesitate to pick it up.
J.P. Corbran · Mar 13, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Bleed 2 is a game that prides itself on giving the player a memorable and distilled experience that gets at the heart of what makes arcade games great. Those looking for a deep well of diverse content will find themselves dissatisfied, but those looking for a game about raw, fun gameplay will find more than enough satisfaction in the nearly endless options for replayability. We’d give Bleed 2 a strong recommendation; it combines charming presentation and tight mechanics to provide an experience that’s as focused as it is enjoyable.
Mitch Vogel · Mar 07, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Despite a few small stumbles along the way, this sequel really does a lot to capture the hearts of anyone willing to try it. Bleed 2 is, quite simply put, intense fun bundled up into a small package. Whether you’re a fan of this arcade style game or you’re just looking to add something new to your library, this is definitely worth the pickup.
Erin Castillo · Feb 15, 2018 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Unless you’re willing to spend hours practising boss fights and levels over and over again to get the satisfaction that comes with finally conquering the hardest difficulty, Bleed 2 offers little in the way of replay value. Think of it like a rollercoaster: it’s fun the first time around, but on repeat visits, the ride loses its lustre.
Ashley Bates · Feb 06, 2018 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Bleed 2 is a mandatory title in your gaming library. Simple as that. It’s a love letter to the good old days of side-scrolling arcade shooters, a challenging but extremely accessible game that features an amazing soundtrack and tons of replayability. This is the spiritual successor to Metal Slug I never knew existed.
Leo Faria · Feb 05, 2018 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Bleed 2 is an average bullet hell game that will be better appreciated by streamers and speedrunners. Those looking for a padded, in-depth, side-scrolling shooter, will be left in the cold. Despite some interesting gameplay design throughout the varying levels, Bleed 2 just doesn’t stand out. It’s worth the price of admission for its content alone, I’ll give it that, but it’s far from revolutionary and lacks originality.
Mark Sherwood · Feb 05, 2018 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Bleed 2 really is the 2D retro pixel art answer to games like Vanquish or Metal Gear Rising. It's an intensely exciting action game with great mechanics, awesome music, and some amazing battles that put most 3-D big budget shooters to shame for intensity and sheer fun. It would've been nice if it was longer, but the quality of the gameplay gives it so much replay value that what we get is still more than enough for what it costs.
John Markley · Mar 10, 2017 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Bleed 2 manages to feel accessible while still rewarding precision and accuracy. It plays wonderfully, and you can enjoy it as a light co-op experience or really break it down and dig in to master its intricacies. I'd definitely recommend playing with a controller, but if you're looking for a fast-paced platformer with plenty of action, Bleed 2 has you covered.
