  • Controlling a pair of robots step-by-step through a series of manual dexterity challenges may not qualify as an adventure, but the charming Biped is a fun diversion, especially in co-op mode.

  • There’s a couple of flaws that prevent Biped from being a fantastic game, but overall we were pleasantly surprised with it. The unique but well-executed walking mechanics provide a fun experience and the co-op mode is genuinely fun. A lot of the enjoyment is dependent on whether or not you have ergonomically comfortable controllers. If you have access to this option, we recommend picking up Biped, but it’s probably not worth buying controllers just to play this game.

  • Despite the odd frame rate dip here and there, as well as little incentive for single-player, Biped is a very good experience for you and a friend, partner, or even your child, so long as they are familiar with the style. A game like Biped can be particularly uplifting right now, so a game that can bring a smile to your face is worth visiting, even if it only scratches the surface of its own potential.

  • It’s fun both on your own or with a friend locally, and despite the fact there’s not a tonne of meat on its bones, the game nevertheless displays a level of polish and charm that’s rarely found in smaller titles such as this. Definitely one to keep an eye on if you’re after a fun co-op experience, but be warned that it's more limited in scope than you might expect.

  • Biped is polished to a beautiful finish on the outside, but struggles somewhat with what it wants to be on the inside. Too much of its challenge is built around coming to terms with its controls rather than utilizing them to do interesting things. While the back half of the game is excellent, I worry some may give up before then.

  • Although Biped has a nice style, the controls greatly hampered my enjoyment of the game. Added to that, the game is pretty short and the puzzles are a little too reminiscent of other platformers to find much of value here. If you’d like to experience a challenge in co-op and test the limits of your personal relationships, you might want to give it a try.

  • Biped is a simple idea but executed with as much charm as Next could possibly muster. If you’ve ever wanted to save the world but the T800 was just a bit to shoot first and ask questions later, grab a buddy and try out Biped. The cute characters, lovingly crafted stages, and emotional range the mechanical cast show between your own screams of joy and despair will have you hooked on this title, and you can even play co-op without the couch via Remote Play.

  • Despite its short runtime, Biped offers a lot of different types of content to enjoy. With extremely fun gameplay, simple controls and puzzle mechanics that keep changing around, anybody can enjoy this little treasure. And if all else fails, you can always amuse yourself and annoy your friends by knocking them off platforms and into their untimely (but super cute sounding) robot death.

  • If there’s a downside to Biped, it’s that it is pretty short. My brother and I finished it in around 3 1/2 hours, and I think even some of that time was because we were a little bit drunk. That’s not a lot of playtime by most standards. Once your two characters, Aku and Sila, complete their mission to light up all of the Earth’s beacons and save the planet, it’s over just like that. In fact, Biped ends so abruptly and quickly, it’s actually a bit of a let-down after all the zany co-op. It’s the only major thing that mars what is otherwise a very impressive game.

  • Biped, with its cute, wide-eyed robots that look like neon Fisher Price toys, lures you into a false sense that you’re in for an easy ride, when in fact you’re in for a surprisingly deep and challenging action-puzzler. Both Francis and myself came away having thoroughly enjoyed the experience. If you’ve a friend you’d like to spend an afternoon or two with playing through a brilliantly inventive physics puzzler with, getting your hands on Biped is a big step in the right direction.
