- Batman: Arkham Shadow è un sogno che si avvera. Se avete amato Batman: Arkham VR e speravate che qualcuno potesse creare un gioco completo partendo da quel concept, allora sappiate che i ragazzi di Camouflaj sono riusciti nel dare vita a un mezzo miracolo. Siamo di fronte non solo a un ottimo capitolo della saga iniziata da Rocksteady, non solo a uno dei titoli in realtà virtuale più divertenti degli ultimi anni, ma anche a uno di quei giochi che potrebbe spingere migliaia di utenti ad acquistare un Meta Quest 3 o 3S. Caratteristica a quanto pare nota anche a Meta, dato che Arkham Shadow è in regalo per chiunque compri uno dei due visori appena citati. Ci rendiamo conto che un titolo per la realtà virtuale non sia quello che tutti i fan del Crociato Incappucciato stavano aspettando, ma il team di Iron Man VR è riuscito a trasformare un prodotto potenzialmente poco interessante in un'opera imperdibile per tutti gli amanti del supereroe creato da Bill Finger e Bob Kane. E questo è qualcosa che non dobbiamo sottovalutare.

La nostra esperienza con Meta Quest 3 è stata divertente e a tratti davvero molto appagante, con un combat system dinamico e vivace e un gameplay stimolante anche nelle fasi più statiche delle indagini o dello studio delle aree da affrontare in maniera furtiva. Bene il comparto grafico, ma le elevate ambizioni del team di sviluppo devono scontrarsi con un hardware limitato per l’esecuzione standalone di un gioco del genere. La prova risulta generalmente buona con qualche inciampo, per uno dei giochi VR migliori dell’anno.

Non seulement c’est un très bon Batman Arkham qui respecte à la lettre l’univers dans lequel il s’infiltre, mais en prime c’est un jeu extrêmement bien conçu. Son système de combat, directement inspiré de celui des autres jeux de la franchise, est tout bonnement incroyable bien que très fatiguant. On se bagarre vraiment finalement, en mimant des crochets, des uppercuts et autres coup spéciaux. Des combats, à l'utilisation des gadgets, en passant par des mouvements pour l’exploration, tout est extrêmement bien fait. Le rythme est au top, le jeu nous tient en haleine plus d’une douzaine d’heure sans forcer et en prime il s’avère plutôt beau. Batman Arkham Shadow est clairement un incontournable pour tous les possesseurs de casque Meta Quest 3, mais attention, être Batman n’est pas de tout repos, c’est très, très physique.

Yes, you feel like Batman, but the game is more than just a simulator for Dark Knight roleplayers. It’s proof that any game concept can be adapted to a VR platform with enough care and skill, and it’s proof that VR has the sauce many claim it doesn’t. If you have a Quest 3, you need to play Batman. If you like Batman, you need a Quest 3.

The game makes every effort to translate the franchise’s best features to virtual reality, with a level of detail that makes you feel like Batman himself. Its story is a fun Batman romp that would work as a solid comic book arc, even if it can't touch Rocksteady's mainline saga. Moreover, it's by capturing the full spectrum of Arkham's still-exciting gameplay mechanics so effectively that Shadow becomes a must-play game for Batman fans, and a revealing measuring stick of how much virtual reality has advanced in just a few years. This isn't the first Batman Arkham game made for VR, but it's undoubtedly the first to feel like it belongs with the rest of the series.
