- It’s great to finally see Supergiant Games bring some of their great work over to a Nintendo platform and Bastion easily ranks among the best. From its eye-catching presentation to the mysterious story to the challenging but satisfying combat Bastion is an emotionally fascinating journey from start to finish and one well worth venturing.
Ryan Janes · Jan 13, 2019 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Bastion is an unforgettable and enjoyable piece of software that stands as a strong example of how games can also be perceived as art. A charismatic narrator, beautiful visuals, intense action gameplay and heavy character customization make this a fairytale that you’ll want to dive into again and again, and while the isometric view sometimes gets in the way of the gameplay, the other aspects of Bastion more than make up for this slight misstep.
Mitch Vogel · Sep 11, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The Switch release plays just as smoothly as any modern game. No frame drops are present and it works beautifully in handheld mode. While there is no new content with this release, it still feels right at home on the Switch. If you’ve played Bastion in the past or if you’ve missed out on the previous releases, I wholeheartedly recommend Bastion for anyone looking for a fantastic action RPG.
Mitchell Parton · Sep 10, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It’s a perfectly proportioned, well packaged, beautiful escape into a foreign world with compelling music, art, and narration. There’s no real added benefits to playing it on the Xbox One besides a few more achievements, but then again, it doesn’t really need any upgrades. It’s fairly perfect as it stands.
Caitlin Cooke · Dec 20, 2016 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Vibrant, colourful and beautiful all round, Bastion is easily one of the most accomplished indie games that I have ever played. With an enchanting story, great weapons and lots to keeping you playing for some time, it is one of my favourite games ever, let alone on the Vita.
Paul Murphy · Dec 16, 2015 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Bastion is an aesthetic dream, from the beautiful visuals that look like a painting come to life to the incredible soundtrack that breathes soul into that life. ...There’s a great amount of replay value here, from the new game plus mode to the combat challenges, but that’s only if the mechanics click with you enough to stick with it. Because of some frustrating controls and combat design decisions, Bastion is held back from being excellent, but remains great nonetheless.
Thomas Ella · Apr 14, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - All of this was just as true back in 2011, and it's a shame that Supergiant didn't at least add a touch more variety. Even so, Bastion holds up remarkably well four years later, even as the acclaimed games of the latter day tend to lose their luster once the initial novelty wears off. At its best, this re-release proves that Bastion is worthy of its name. It's a bastion of good game design and innovative narration, and I suspect that another four years from now, it will hold up just as well.
Leif Johnson · Apr 08, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - There’s something about the dreamlike graphics and acoustic beats of the excellent music that keeps you entranced in this game. Though simple, the combat is gratifying, and a simple weapon/character upgrade system means that even the most inexperienced of RPG players can jump right in and enjoy this game to the full. Whether or not you’ve played Bastion in the past, you should definitely revisit it on PlayStation 4. It has a charm unlike any other game.
Kim · Apr 07, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - When we played Bastion for the first time a few years ago, we literally gave it an instinctive standing ovation as the credits began to roll, and our pleasantly surprised reaction remains justified. This game is a testament to the type of human creativity, innovation, and wonder that are sometimes only possible with indie games, and now that it has graced Sony's systems, you can understand why it will continue to entrench itself as a classic for years to come.
Joey Thurmond · Apr 06, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - This PlayStation release pretty much completes the rounds for Bastion. ...It’s a game that breaks the traditional rules that we’re used to, giving us an experience that is still doing things that most other games are not, even four years after its original release. Depth in simplicity. A basic melding of ingredients. A heart. A soul. These are the elements that make Bastion transcend time, being a relevant and necessary release regardless of the year or platform.

About the game
Trailers & Screenshots:
The game takes place in the aftermath of the Calamity, a catastrophic event that suddenly fractured the city of Caelondia as well as the surrounding areas of the game's world into many floating pieces, disrupting its ecology and reducing most of its people to ash. Players take control of the Kid, a silent protagonist who awakens on one of the few remaining pieces of the old world and sets off for the titular Bastion, where everyone was supposed to go in troubled times. The only survivor he meets there is an elderly man named Rucks, the game's narrator, who instructs him to collect the Cores that once powered Caelondia.
