  • It’s a huge boost if you already enjoy his music, but even haters will have to respect the work that’s gone into this fast-paced, well-designed rhythm action title. It’s just a shame that Tim Bergling never had a chance to see it come together so nicely. Still, until we get Pet Shop Boys: Invector, it’s the best single-artist music game we’ve had the pleasure of playing.

  • While this game didn’t quite get me into my ideal flow state, it came close and I appreciate the risks they took with the gameplay. The graphics and gameplay fit the feel and heart of Aviici’s music, which, in the end, may be the most important thing. If you like Aviici’s style of music and rhythm games are your jam, then Invector will probably be worth your time.

  • There aren’t many EDM focused rhythm action titles that offer up such tightly designed and satisfying mechanics – so in that regard this is a game that’s well worth investigating if you’re a fan of both genres. For anyone else, take a listen to the trailer above – you’ll soon know if this is an experience you’ll want to dive into.

  • Ultimately, the move to Switch makes sense for AVICII Invector Encore Edition, and it is a successful one at that - guided by Tim “AVICII” Bergling’s love for the genre. If you have the option, I’d recommend the console version of the game as a first choice, but if you’re someone who is constantly on-the-go (as much as one can be “on-the-go” right now), then AVICII Invector Encore Edition will be well-worth adding to your Switch library.

  • Music fans should dig Avicii Invector, especially those inclined to appreciate the deep lyrics in these tracks. For non-enthusiasts, an easy difficulty setting makes the game inviting, even for those with limited experience in rhythm games. While the gameplay can certainly get repetitious after time, it’s a fun game to watch even if you pass the controller to a friend. Avicii is on my radar now, thanks to Avicii Invector.

  • AVICII Invector: Encore Edition manages to balance its challenging rhythm gameplay and fantastic soundtrack with an air of respect and love for the artist that makes it easy to recommend. Even some small frame-rate issues and distracting visuals can’t get in the way of this one.

  • There’s really not much more to say about AVICII Invector, being a rhythm game means there’s really not a lot to cover. The game feels good to play, has good difficulty balance, and the music is fantastic, that really covers most of what you need to know. There are a total of 35 tracks to be found in the game, with 10 of them being brand new for the Switch release.

  • While it's impossible to know the state of the game when the DJ passed away, an infectious affection for Bergling's work now oozes from the rush of each break to every cathartic drop. But with each moment of elation comes an inescapable, gnawing emptiness as you remember the man himself will never see it.

  • The game is a nice tribute to the artist, though I feel there’s more that could have been added to make it a little more personal. Regardless, Avicii Invector is a fine celebration of a talented performer that sizzles with high energy.

  • AVICII Invector is a nice tribute and takes you on a journey through 25 songs while you have to try and hit all the cues that are thrown at you. Having three difficulties and the co-op option are nice features but it would have been nice if there was something else, something that would keep you hooked. The graphics and sound certainly work together well and makes everything that more special. Price-wise, it might be a bit on the high side but you’ll be helping the Tim Bergling Foundation and honoring the thought of the young artist.
