- Content to iterate rather than innovate, Asdivine Hearts wears its inspirations on its sleeve both for better and for worse, delivering a decently enjoyable but ultimately uninspired JRPG experience. Its gameplay template is tried and true, but lacklustre presentation, control issues, and a pervading sense of paint-by-numbers design mean it’s unlikely to leave a lasting impression.
Morgan Sleeper · May 03, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - While Asdivine Hearts might possibly be a less cumbersome experience on mobile devices, the fact remains that it is a generic RPG void of any personality. Between the bland visuals, the uninspired soundtrack, the unoriginal characters and lackluster plot, Asdivine Hearts offers nothing compelling to fans of the genre.
Brandon Langrock · Jan 19, 2017 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - There are so many JRPGs to choose from that it would be easy to overlook Asdivine Hearts, but it is definitely worth a try. Although simple in terms of graphics and battle style, the game has strengths where needed with its story and humorous characters. There is plenty to do for those who take the time to complete all the quests, and the addition of features such as the rubix system and the trust bar allow Asdivine Hearts to be a little different. Plus, there's a God trapped inside a cat, and how often does that happen?
Louisa Bhairam · Apr 14, 2016 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Ultimately I was really happy with Asdvine Hearts. It was a wonderful throwback to a different time in gaming. It’s an extremely enjoyable experience that I haven’t had in too long a time. I don’t recommend purchasing it on a PlayStation platform because of the price, but on Wii U, PC, or mobile it would be a great buy. Certainly worth your time.
DJMMT · Jan 17, 2017 Reviewed on PS4 - Asdivine Hearts doesn't reinvent anything; far from it. But it takes the JRPG formula and balances the combat to perfection. The game feels just as unfair as a great old-school JRPG should, and the only way to win an unfair game is to play ever more unfair, which Asdivine Hearts encourages and makes possible. However, the story and characters are highly lacking, which might make it difficult to get through the game unless the story doesn't matter that much to you.
André Eriksson · Jun 22, 2016 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - At the end of the day though, I found Asdivine Hearts more or less okay. It does what it says on the tin and the game is competent enough to give it a go. There is nothing really outstanding about the game. The battle system and interactions are certainly fun, but I am unsure if most will be willing to sit through 20+ hours.
