- In practice, Angry Birds 2’s limited lives and ever-shifting stages don’t completely ruin the fun of launching birds at pigs. It’s still fun to pop in, cause some destruction, and then go about your day. But it’s a more superficial kind of fun - a pale shadow of what Angry Birds can provide when at its best. It may look dramatically better than ever, but the legendary staying power of the original Angry Birds just isn’t there in the sequel.

The addition of the Arena, offering challenges and a leaderboard component is a sweet move, and new bird Silver is a fun one to learn. Multi stage levels are also pretty satisfying as well as boss battles, but that’s only ever going to be the case when you can actually play Angry Birds 2. Be prepared to love Angry Birds 2 but it’s a tough kind of love. You’re really going to wish there was a premium option in there.

But given how little its gameplay varies from classic Angry Birds, you might be better off paying a bit of money to grab the first game. It might seem a little bare-bones in this day and age, but “bare bones” means no lives or level timers. It’s just you, pigs, and physics. Just the way the Mighty Eagle always intended for things to be.

Angry Birds is supposed to be a series you can just pick up and play, and I have no idea what they were thinking here -- other than "more money."

Combined with the gorgeous new backgrounds and settings, that should make this the best Angry Birds yet, even if it doesn’t really innovative. But Angry Birds 2 is nearly a textbook case of how freemium features and online connection can ruin a casual game.

It's highly subjective, really personal, and all a matter of perspective. I've been having a fantastic time with it, so it's really easy for me to highly, highly recommend checking out.

The core of its gameplay remains the same: load the slingshot and throw birds against the evil green pigs tucked away within glass and wood structures. However, almost everything has been revamped. The quality of the graphics has been boosted, especially regarding animations, effects, and level backgrounds.

El juego se deja querer y engancha de manera inevitable, y además es un goce visual. El problema es que el sistema de monetización no termina de estar bien ajustado, y acaba molestando más de la cuenta y entrometiéndose en la jugabilidad.

Pero el problema de Angry Birds 2 es que llega, en nuestra opinión, un poco tarde. La segunda parte de Angry Birds ha desembarcado en las plataformas digitales de Apple y Google de una forma un tanto tardía, decenas de entregas después y bajo la apariencia de un free-to-play, algo que no será del agrado de muchos jugadores.
