- As a palate cleanser, A World of Keflings certainly does the trick, though you may feel your sanity begin to ebb after extended sessions. At the end of my game, for example, I created a roving band of lumberjacks and began felling every single tree in the kingdom. It's not that I needed the wood; I was just tired of looking at the trees. Nearly eight straight hours of kingdom building can do that to you.
Richard Mitchell · Mar 27, 2016 Reviewed on X360 - Whether you’re going to enjoy A World of Keflings or not comes down to a few simple things. Obviously, if you enjoyed the original you’ll probably enjoy the sequel, assuming you’re not expecting world-changing improvements. If you never get tired of the basic ideas at the core of every resource-based strategy game, don’t mind unnecessarily cute (and occasionally lame) attempts at humor, and can get past some minor targeting issues then World could work to fulfill that tiny niche of XBLA resource management games.
Bryce Zubriski · Feb 22, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - A World of Keflings is a little too shallow to really satisfy the true builders in the crowd, but if you've ever felt overwhelmed by Sim City and others of its ilk, AWoK's casual approach may be more your speed. Plus, the appeal of shooting Keflings out of musical cannons simply cannot be overstated.
Susan Arendt · Jan 18, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - So the end result with A World of Keflings is the same laid-back and almost Zen-like sandbox building play as found in its predecessor. That's a little disappointing because there was room here to beef up gameplay with additional management tools, more expansive new lands to explore, and more varied construction goals.
Brett Todd · Jan 04, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - All things considered, this is one of the most charming titles I've played in recent years, even with its drawbacks. No, it isn't StarCraft 2 or Battlefront but, really, it doesn't need to be. A World of Keflings might suffer from what many may see as a 'kiddy' aesthetic. I couldn't care less. This is easily the most fun I've had learning the fundamentals of microeconomics.
Patriel Manning · Dec 22, 2010 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Though optimizing your supply lines and customizing your buildings is satisfying, the process ends up being too shallow to compete with the giants in the city-building genre. Additional layers of village governance, branching development paths, or a free-play sandbox mode would have been great additions and given the simple formula more depth. However, A World of Keflings still succeeds at being a unique and accessible simulation that serves as an excellent first step into a larger world.
Joe Juba · Dec 22, 2010 Reviewed on X360 - I like the constant stream of new stuff in World of Keflings, as you are discovering a new building blueprint or special object every ten or fifteen minutes. Plus, the only punishment for making a mistake in World of Keflings is lost time. If you need a break this season from racing supercars or making the bad guy blow up real good, World of Keflings is a refreshing antidote.
Levi Buchanan · Dec 22, 2010 Reviewed on X360Read full review - A World of Keflings feels more like an enhanced remake rather than a true sequel, and anyone who played through the original will quickly get déjà vu from the identical journey from basic houses up to an ornate game-winning castle. There are a smattering of new buildings, but none are enough to tug the game from its comfortable trajectory.
