  • In an age where patches come easy, companies are more than ready to reap the easy reward, meet the optimal release date, and cut the right corners to get the money now, and provide quality later. This shouldn’t have happened. But if there’s one thing Red Dead Redemption 2 knows, it’s that it’s never too late to try to do better. We can only hope it’s a lesson Rockstar will take to heart.

  • As a PC user, I was still waiting for Rockstar to release the original Red Dead Redemption on PC. Well, that never happened, and a year after the console versions were released, I was beginning to think that Red Dead Redemption 2 would suffer the same fate. But I’m happy to say that it has finally arrived, and it is a glorious cinematic gaming experience that was well worth the wait.

  • Deep gameplay at an unseen fidelity and attention to detail cement Red Dead Redemption 2 as Rockstar's newest genre-defining adventure. In spite of technical issues at launch, the PC version reigns supreme as the decisive way to experience the Wild West epic at uncapped framerates, obscene resolutions and incredible visuals.

  • These are early days for the PC release and hopefully, the technical issues are addressed in the coming days. As things stand now, unless you have a top-notch PC, chances are you’re running a rig like mine and will have to make graphical compromises that leave you experiencing the game in a presentation fairly similar to that on the consoles. Regardless, this is unquestionably a brilliant experience. Everything about this version is bigger and better than the console version providing you have the rig to run it on.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2's stark, slow depiction of America's fading frontier is a monumental work straining against stubborn mission design and stability problems.

  • If you've never played Red Dead Redemption 2, the PC version is the way to go. The extra options and content are nice, but it's the graphical upgrades and the ability to swap in a mouse and keyboard that really put it over the top. RDR2 is one of the best open-world games ever made, and definitely a defining game of this decade.

  • It reaches a point where, even when you’re not playing Red Dead Redemption 2, you’re still thinking about playing it and checking off everything on your long to-do list before riding off into the sunset. Although Red Dead Redemption 2 for the PC has plenty of technical quirks, they're easy to overlook once you're immersed in the story and the breathtaking beauty of the world.

  • There are two ways to look at the PC version of Red Dead Redemption II. If you're viewing it from a content and gameplay standpoint, this is the Wild West opus you've come to expect from one of the specialists in open-world games. The single-player game is dense, with tons of quests and plenty to do in between the story-related missions. The online game is equally as packed, and it could easily stand alone from the campaign. If you're looking at it from a technical standpoint, it is a mess.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC is a solid port, just not a perfect one. Largely carried by the fantastic quality of the game itself, the port does at least provide prettier visuals, additional content, and a fantastic new Photo Mode. That all said, as solid as the port may be in most regards, it may be best to give Rockstar until the Steam launch in a month to iron out the last of the major issues. At that point, it’ll be easier to see and believe why I feel this is truly the best way to experience the end of the outlaw era for yourself.

  • There's not much in the way of new content, but Red Dead Redemption 2 is undoubtedly best played on PC. With scalable graphics options for future PC tech, improved input latency and an already burgeoning modding scene, Red Dead Redemption will continue to shine on the platform for years.
