- Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a fantastic entry. It takes chances with its mechanics and feels like yet another testing ground for Nintendo to see what works and what doesn’t. It is the best 2D Mario in a long time, but still doesn’t dethrone the kings from the NES and SNES days.
Ken McKown · Nov 07, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Nintendo rather threw the kitchen sink (full of thousands of Post-it notes) at Super Mario Bros. Wonder, so it's unsurprising that not every element is as successful as the game's – and the genre's – best. But when you think about it, it's remarkable that, after nearly four decades, there are still new ideas left to try. The real wonder is how good Mario's latest 2-D romp turned out.
Josh Wise · Nov 07, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Super Mario Bros. Wonder is exactly what fans hoped for from the return of a 2D Mario franchise. The tight, precise platforming has been mixed with the wild creativity seen in the 3D exploits of Nintendo's iconic plumber to create one of the best titles of the year.
Eric Hall · Nov 04, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Annoyances aside, what an experience Super Mario Bros. Wonder was. It was one of my most anticipated games of the year and certainly delivered on offering a platforming experience like no other. Here's hoping Nintendo can continue to subvert expectations because it's going to be hard to top this one.
Austin Suther · Nov 03, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It is hard not to be absolutely blown away by Super Mario Bros. Wonder. It is easily the best 2D Mario in over thirty years. It does this by not trying so hard to match the past, and instead focus on new ideas and learn from how Mario has evolved in other dimensions since then
John Rairdin · Nov 02, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Overall, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a must-play title if you own a Nintendo Switch. It’s tonnes of fun and has enough longevity to it with its wide range of collectibles and unlockables.
Sahil Lala · Nov 01, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Overall, I really do love Super Mario Bros Wonder. It brings in classic elements of past games but sprinkles in a ton of new features to create something new.
Rachel Varnham · Oct 31, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Super Mario Bros. Wonder is just that—an absolute wonder. It’s sheer wackiness and crazy antics create many memorable moments, to the point where it stands out more than any 2D game since Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo. It takes every improvement of the New Super Mario Bros. games and gives it the creative flair the series was absolutely begging for!
Alex Harding · Oct 29, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - If you’ve been looking for a hot new Mario game, your prayers are answered. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the best the series has been for years.
James Paley · Oct 28, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Super Mario Bros. Wonder is easily the best new 2D Mario in a very long time, and it’s really fighting for my number one or two spot. Recency bias has it going head to head with older titles, but that’s the great part: you don’t have to decide
