I can still remember the first time I played a sonic game, that was way back the year 2000s. What a nostalgic moment as a gamer. That's the exact thing I felt when I played this Sonic game for this generation. Played this on steam deck. That's why for me it felt really good to play this while seating on a couch or even before bedtime. This game is actually one of those games that were underrated. It got a lot of potential as a sonic game. The open world is there, though missing some elements such as interaction with other NPCs. The story is somewhat simple and so cheesy to be honest. What I like about this game is the mechanics. I can't help but to get distracted everytime I roam around the world with Sonic at maximum. It's satisfying.

The boss fight, gave me a challenge as well. I think it is because of the fact that it really never give the player a proper instruction on how to defeat a certain enemies. One last thing I want to point out is the skill tree. I was able to maxed out the skill tree at World 2. And after that, that's it. I was really hoping to see more skill sets or upgreadables for Sonic.

Overall, it was an okay game. Showed a lot of potentials.
