- To summarize, The Last of Us Part 1 is crafted with care and you can sense it throughout the entire game. For those who played the game a whole while back as well as new players, it’s a great chance to experience the game on PC. That being said, we do recommend checking if there are known compatibility issues with your graphics card.
Pimp Without The Pee · May 05, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - A gorgeous and well-honed remake of one of the biggest boppers in the PlayStation pantheon, The Last of Us Part I is the best way to play – or replay – Naughty Dog’s esteemed survival classic. The striking improvements it makes to its completely rebuilt world are complemented by the subtle refinements of its characters’ performances, and while it isn’t retrofitted with every one of the sequel’s best changes, the upgrades to movement and AI make a welcome difference in an already outstanding game.
Michaelnxg · Apr 17, 2023 Reviewed on PC, PS5Read full review - The Last of Us Part I could have launched cleaner, to be sure. But my personal experience with the game was far better than some of what I’m seeing reported online. I was experiencing a stellar game for the first time, and it behaved itself for me well enough that I had a great time.
Eric Hauter · Apr 07, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Of course, the combat was great. Aiming ranged weapons with the mouse was fluid, easy, and effective. When it wasn’t stuttering, that is. Melee combat was repetitive but satisfying. The game does a great job of making the impacts feel damaging using audio and camera effects. Furthermore, stealth and movement translated great to the PC version, making each encounter feel exciting and engaging despite the issues that may or may not show up during play.
Jacob Greenwood · Apr 05, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - This is something that should hopefully be addressed by future patches, along with a host of other performance improvements and optimizations to bring this port to a level of quality we've come to expect from Naughty Dog. It's disappointing after the relatively good work done on the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection that The Last of Us Part I seems a long way away from being a smooth experience for most players.
Jake Dekker · Apr 05, 2023 Reviewed on PC, PS5Read full review - While The Last of Us Part I is arguably the game’s best version, its PC port is incredibly sub par and currently needs a lot of fixing.
Abdul Saad · Apr 05, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The Last of Us Part 1’s PC debut has been hampered by an incredibly bad job done on the port. Aside from low frame rates, the game also suffers from random crashes, and the initial shader caching takes long enough to be an active mark against the game.
Shunal Doke · Apr 04, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - So, all in all, not a great first outing for The Last of Us on PC. On a graphical level, I appreciated all the little visual options and settings I could tweak on the fly, and as someone who’s grown a deep appreciation for games with ultrawide support, I couldn’t help but be taken in by The Last of Us’ graceful nature-y settings all over again. The lighting effects are stunning, the character models and animations are crisp, and it’s just a fantastic-looking game overall.
Zhiqing Wan · Apr 03, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The Last of Us is truly one of gaming's best, but the PC port is not the ideal way to experience it. Eventually, The Last of Us Part 1 on PC will be in a state where it lives up to or even exceeds its PlayStation 5 counterpart, but right now it's difficult to recommend. Buried beneath the poor performance is still one of the best games ever made, though, so PC gamers who don't mind playing with Medium graphics may still be able to enjoy the incredible story and gameplay if they absolutely can't wait for everything to be fixed.
Dalton Cooper · Apr 01, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - From the gameplay to the characters to the story, this is one of the highlights of the past few gaming generations. The appearance on the PC should've given the game even more room to show off things like higher-quality textures and reflections along with Sony's now-standard ultrawide support. Yet the game's ability to only work with reduced risk after waiting for an abnormally long time for shader caching mars the release. The game crashes, frequent pauses in gameplay and other nonsensical bugs put into question the decision to release this despite the obvious issues.
