Revenant Kingdom considerably enhanced its fighting system and side events over the previous NI No Kuni game, introducing layers of game mechanics.

The plot and world building of the first game stand out, the characters are more relatable, and the game is distinctive in its own right.

The introduction of an action-based battle system, for the sequal, was refreshing than the semi-action-based battle system of the previous installment. However, while this is a welcome addition, it is clear from other reviews how simple the battle system is, where you can combat and defeat higher leveled foes. Despite these flaws, the battle is mainly enjoyable.

Another favorite feature was the kingdom building, which reminded me of the Suikoden games that allowed you to recruit over a hundred characters.

Ni No Kuni: Revennat Kingdom improved on the basic game while retaining the majority of its charms. The game has a lot of concepts introduced, however those materials may still be improved.

A journey to the right direction

There's a lot to take in when you start playing ni no kuni revenant kingdom but it is well worth your time. I especially loved the amount of quality of life changes in this game (as a PC Gamer, I love my keyboard and mouse) that separates it from other games( especially in the genre) such as mouse button remapping, sorting equipment and nifty fast travel which eliminates backtracking. On harder difficulties there is some grinding to be done, but on normal the game never challenges you too much, and that can be a good thing if you hate grinding, or have very little time. And while collecting citizens are named sidequests, they were arguably main quests in how much they make you attached to your kingdom. Then there's the joy you get when every side quest is an autocomplete, because your kingdom practically generates every item you will ever need. This on top of gorgeous visuals, and a lovely soundtrack. My only downside with the game is how some scenes deserved more voice acting than it got, that would have made this a masterpiece. Even so this is an RPG that allowed me to relax and enjoy my time.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

A worthy follow up to the brilliant Wrath of the White Witch

A worthy follow up to the brilliant Wrath of the White Witch

I was briefly invested in the game, and quickly became bored. With how much I loved the first game, the sequel was a disappointment. The kingdom building would have made it better, but it was generic. The story or characters were not as good as in the first game.

It was a good game, a lot too it. very enjoyable up until around the very end and then it seemed to fall a little flat in the sense of doing the last battle which was the only downside I can say about this game. Other than that it was very well made.
