- It’s an incredibly sorrowful tale that borders on being straight-up depressing at times, despite its wacky characters, but shockingly, I still found myself enjoying it. It’s bizarre concepts and bonkers story kept me captivated until the very end. I highly recommend it to fans of the genre, just try to go in as blind as possible.
Heidi Hawes · Jan 10, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - In conclusion, NORCO is a bit of a mixed bag. Whilst it looks and sounds stunning it is let down by a story that pushes itself so far out there that it has no way of coming back. Although already critically acclaimed this could be one of those games that is far more beloved of reviewers than the people who actually play it.
Harm0nica · Dec 06, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The cursor is fond of resetting, so you have to drag it all the way across the screen often, it's very easy to accidentally repeat dialogue choices, and sometimes it takes a few tries to hover over something before the interaction prompt actually shows up. Apart from this, the game offers a rich, fulfilling experience that you should try to experience as soon as you possibly can.
Graham Banas · Nov 28, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Norco isn’t able to fully give her the healing she’ll always want but never fully achieve, but its understanding of pain, loss, and the need to keep moving are a remarkable achievement which helped me process some of my own feelings as well.
Andrew Thornton · Aug 30, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - NORCO is a one-of-a-kind adventure, expertly written with (almost) perfect artistic direction. The lack of frequent puzzles is made up for by their unusual quality and variety. A must-play for narrative adventure fans.
Sean Robertson · Jun 04, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - NORCO provides the perfect blend by giving the player just enough information to construct a compelling story and recognizing their intellect while giving enough room for their creativity.
Vednor · Apr 16, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - NORCO is a brilliant game with an incredibly high level of craft, particularly with its writing. It is one of the most entertaining and thought-provoking games in years, and everyone should play it.
Andrew Otton · Apr 15, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - NORCO is an absolute, unequivocal must-play. We need more capable storytellers like this in games.
Bob Richardson · Apr 15, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - I’ve never played a game like Norco, which elegantly celebrates and admonishes its cultural roots while simultaneously chronicling a strange doomsday scenario. Kay and Catherine’s shattered America is not so dissimilar from our own – burgeoning industrial complexes threaten to displace low-income families, automated systems supersede human workers, and the filthy rich work around the clock to deter upward mobility. The game isn’t always gloomy.
Jason Guisao · Apr 12, 2022 Reviewed on PC - Norco's beautiful, evocative, and contemplative storytelling takes you on a fascinating journey that will occupy your thoughts for weeks and months after the credits roll. It earns its place alongside games like Kentucky Route Zero and Disco Elysium, effectively depicting the Southern Gothic genre with a mystifying adventure that's built on sublime writing and a poetic exploration of societal issues, environmental catastrophe, and what it means to be human.

Immerse yourself in a surreal and uncanny South Louisiana
NORCO’s painterly and cinematic pixel art draws the player into its quotidian sci-fi world of disappearing swamplands, labyrinthine oil refineries, and other landscapes inspired by the titular town of Norco, Louisiana and other parts of Greater New Orleans. Sink into the rich field recordings and sound design by fmAura and a driving, post-industrial electronic score from Gewgawly I.
