    Coral Island is a carefree island farming sim with a lot of charm set in a vibrant world. It borrows quite heavily from similar games yet it also manages to forge its own identity and throw in a bunch of fresh concepts, too.

    Coral Island is a brilliant, cozy game and essential for any fan of the farming sim genre. It’s got a huge, lively town with spiritual aspects that add an interesting twist to its premise. There are more than enough quality-of-life additions that make its gameplay loop incredibly satisfying. It just might be worth waiting for its bug problem to be sorted out first, though. Once that’s done, feel free to add an extra point to the score.

    Coral Island takes cues from the best games in the business to create a mix of farming and lifestyle gameplay, and so it gets most things right. It’s lacking in a bit of unique flavour and the first few seasons play a bit like a Stardew Valley clone, but it comes into its own soon enough.

    Coral Island checks every box for a farming simulator and more. As it leaves Early Access and launches as a full game, the near-flawless execution of so many moving parts is impressive. With a full road map of more to come in 2024, Coral Island is worth a try by anyone who enjoys cozy farming simulation games, or just wants to lose themselves somewhere warm during the cold winter months.
