- The amount of levels and collectibles throughout the game will give you plenty to do, and so much customization means creating your perfect character. All in all, it’s a solid, if somewhat forgettable experience, but I do suggest playing it with your own music unless you’re looking for some sort of tranquil nothingness.
Aaron Price · Oct 11, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Youropa is a special puzzle game that manages to do enough memorable things to keep you interested and invested. Smart puzzle designs make the game a fun challenge to complete, along with clever new abilities you unlock as you play. The big miss here is its painting mechanic, which it describes as an important aspect, but rarely ever uses the feature. Youropa offers plenty of variety to keep you playing throughout its adventure.
Jesse Taylor · Oct 10, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Youropa left me feeling quite ambivalent about the final product. As a puzzle game it has some clever mechanics and explores them with plenty of abilities to extend your playing experience for quite some time. However it must be said that this playtime feels extended by a sluggish pace that makes exploration and even some of the puzzle solving feel exhausting at times. The game runs good enough on Switch and for those who like trying their hand at creating games or levels of their own, Youropa has plenty to offer here.
Willem Hilhorst · Oct 08, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - With all said and done, Youropa is a really good game to play. I recommend this title to those who wish to challenge their dexterity in solving long and hard puzzles and those who also love to experience a new genre to explore.
Conrad Huang · Oct 02, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Youropa came out of Early Access on June 27th and is just as charming as ever before. At $24.99 USD, its gorgeous landscape and mind-bending puzzle will keep you busy for hours as you make your way across a gravitationally-challenged Paris. Its gentle pacing and ambient music would make this relaxing experience if it weren’t for the mental gymnastics required to think dimensionally!
Damien Gula · Aug 14, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Youropa is a unique puzzle game in how its puzzles are approached, and how it wants the player to approach them. There are collectibles dotted around in every level, and given the final ability you get, going through the game again to find them all would be a different experience. Also including a level editor for you to make your own levels, Youropa offers plenty of variety and longevity.
Jack Bampfield · Jul 18, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Youropa is a puzzle platformer with a unique, gravity defying twist – but it’s not quite enough. You could easily find yourself getting lost in the pleasant atmosphere, but you’re just as likely to enter a void of chasing your own tail.
Kat Bullock · Nov 25, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Yes, I forgot to mention, if you walk off the edge, unless the face over the edge is parallel to the world’s normal gravity, you fall, losing health, and that’s indicated by stripping you of your paint, which you get to apply after the first fragment, along with other customisable features, such as eyes, ears etc. Too many falls, and that’s game over.
Benedict Daniels · Jan 06, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - It constantly throws in new mechanics and upgrades, while still making sure players have mastered each one before moving onto the next and making things more complicated. Its dreamlike atmosphere is inviting, and although the game isn't long, if you don't plan on going for collectibles or using the level editor, every minute of it is a joy to play.
Colin Beauchamp · Aug 02, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - In a world where 3D platformers are a dime a dozen, especially on Steam, it's nice to see Frecle really think outside, around, and on the underside of the box. They've made use of every square inch of each level, decorated it all wonderfully, and thought carefully about each challenge, and it's this careful consideration piled into every step of the game that makes it such an engaging experience throughout. Sure, it's a little slow, but who would want to rush through such a lovely world?
